Don't even bother with this junk! Oreo in 2019? Come on! LG's entry-level devices are just junk! Never get updated, hilariously bad tech (32GB microSD card reader, Nougat in 2018), junk software that is on par with Samsung's old TouchWiz and the fact that they bring nothing new to the table. And this thing is going to be priced at like €300. What a joke!

MTK paired with Android 8.1. Yeah, seems like another winner.

Did the writer make a typo mistake or LG really dumb enough to release a phone with Oreo in 2019.

Redmi 6 (with same chipset cost around 100$), so i hope so LG K12 + will be priced similar. For them, and thwir sales :/

The GPU is weak but with a 720p that shouldn't be a big issue. At the end of the day this phone is geared towards the casual user who will use FB, whatsapp and the like. For them the processor is adequate but I will never be able to recommend this to anymore over Samsung or Xaiomi.

Anonymous, 08 Feb 2019Mediatek junk. After almost 4 generations of using the same MT6750 in their "K10" line, they finally change the chipset.

Amazing job LG... (slow clap meme)

"Other safe bets are a fingerprint scanner on the back and some Android-based face unlock that many affordable smartphones now implement."

Glad to be part of that "some affordable smartphones."
Redmi 5 Plus has face recognition only in specified regions like India, Malaysia, etc.
It is as if Xiaomi is assuming that the people of the other regions have ugly or no face.

My phone frum work was an LG K8 from 2016. It was a mediatek chip with 1,5 Gb Ram and 8 GB rom. I was a very good phome except the 8 GB stprage that only left you with only 2 or 3 GB free for the user.
Because of he low storage I had to switch to a P8 lite wich has an octa core chip in comparison with the quadcore mediatek that LG had but the P8 lite is very laggy on day to day tasks compared with the LG.
The screen of the LG was so bright with beautigul colours. Thw P8 lite has the worst screen .
The only advantage of the P8 lite was the 16 GB ROM. Besides that the LG was better.

                                  DOA!
If LG can't do better than the Redmi Note 7 then LG is truly scr*wed as phones maker.

I cannot afford it even if i have money to buy 2 iphones

And LG seems to get confused why no one buys their entry level phones ! :P

Samsung seems to have caught on that their entry level phones need to be competitive and have launched the M series with a half decent Exynos 7904 chipset with 2 A73 cores which makes a decent difference rather than this Mediatek P22.
