Perhaps too cool to actually happen, at least in 2019, but who knows?

Battery will be poor unless split in two

Anonymous, 10 Feb 2019I do get your point, but what I don't get is the pronouncia... moreWell I guess it is matter of continuation. Back when the "Razr" first appeared it was incredibly thin for a foldable phone. Many non-foldable phones were thicker, hence the 'razor sharp' reference. But of course phones&phablets are much thinner now, so in 2019 perspective it is 'bulky'. Though the 'onion' fold is a very clever idea to get it as thin as the current technology allows for bending displays.

Motorola the one bring new tech in mobile, when motorola died, almost nothing new in mobile, think sustainable, support the one doing research not copy paste

Lenovo showed their concept but Moto is doing it first? Lenovo really trying to ruin Motorola. If it failed Moto will take all the blame.

Cool idea, but it's still a concept..

An idea. Have 2 inner displays, one fixed, the other on slider rails controlled by a cam mechanism. When you open the phone up flat, the sliding display move the 2 or 3 millimeters bringing the two screens together with minimal line in center.

Makes more sense than wasting time developing a "folding" display.

They need to put 2 batteries in this , in each part...
I like this idea more than the tablet size idea.

Folding phones should make the phone smaller.

Ghostwolf87, 10 Feb 2019Form is useless without function. If it doesn't work right,... moreIt still has function, not useless atleast but what I meant was it would be impractical. The argument "form over function" does not imply that both form and function is to the extreme ends of the spectrum. It simply means that the form is prioritized and the function comes second relative to it target pricepoint.

I like the concept of sticking with the format of the Razr of yester-years. I would like for it to be a bit wider instead of narrower like the old Razr phones. I want it to fill my palms when holding it in a closed position. When opened the screen should at least have a 17:9--18:9 aspect ratio. The problem will be the size of the battery...how will they put at least a 3500mAh battery in such a device. Hopefully some of the new battery techs are ready to be implemented and commercialized. This looks promising.

I think it's a cool idea: new technology and retro at the same time. Unfortunately, it seems it will be expensive.

It could work, just divide the scree into three, the piece in the corner could just pull back as you fold, allowing the two big pieces to fold. When you open, they align perfectly, but it will take insane precision and great design and development to make three screens blend seamlessly
