[deleted post]Sony (Xperia) fans still believe it's 2014, and Apple/Samsung are rivals.
It's 2019, Xperia sales are statistically insignificant. Apple and Samsung, though facing heated competition from Huawei and other Chinese brands, still command a large market share.
To be honest, not a lot of Xperia fans these days: a lot have defected after the release of XZ2. They're not coming back, not even with a 21:9 display.
It's just a lot of wasted potential, as Sony has been doing very well in its other businesses. Its mobile division was afflicted by a series of poor decisions.

The designer of this phone must hate Sony. Looks like a design done to drop their mid-range sales to the ground. Even the Razer phone is atractive beside this one. And we know how big were their sales. If they remove the compact globally too. Not sure how Sony Mobile pretend survive selling only the XZ4 that a minority buy due to its too high price.

Come back to complain ... moreYou do realise that *insert ANY number here*x2160 is literally what people call "4K", right? It doesn't matter what number you add in the asterisks. What matters is the width's pixel count on a phone (the height for any monitor or TV since they're landscape oriented by default in contrast to phones), not the height. Even 100000000x2160p is 4K. Learn the basics mate.
P.S.: 2K and 4K are marketing shitty titles that have no truth behind them. At all. 4K is 2160p pixels height in landscape. Which means a bit more than 2 thousand. Which literally translates to 2K. Yet it's called "4K".

I was wondering about the usability of the phone in landscape mode especially for gaming since it has one side bezel at the top which should make it awkward, however, Sony never missed that, they committed to make the black bar only at the bottom so as we can see in the video there is a huge bar at the bottom that's because it is a 16:9 aspect ratio content which means, when playing a 18:9 connect which is the default now it will leave a single black bar at the bottom which is as big as the top bezel, therefore it it will balance the distance from both sides, sneeky Sony.
