Android is no where as stable as iPhone. You're like the first person that says that. This is from someone who owns 4 Android phones and 3 of them are high end phones. Also, Apple already checked all the apps that are currently in the App Store.

Google is just pumping these numbers to get advertisers. It's irrelevant how many Android devices are there to normal people because in reality everybody knows that iPhones are practically everywhere.

Android devices are still a rare specimen that I've occasionally spot. Heck, I even see more Blackberries out than Android.

Anyways, it's a stat Google dishes out to generate advertisers.

Google makes zero on device sales.

I'm using several android devices myself, where I'm installing thousands applications every day, and they are running all at once, and I got no time to live, because these devices are still breaking and I'm searching and installing custom ROMs, and testing it, and installing more applications, since thousands applications appear every day in Android Market, and this is what everybody needs...

Why do people get so excited about these numbers when you can buy an Android handset for £35

Yes there are alot of Android handsets but look at how many Android handsets are geting released per month or even per week. Everyone gets excited at the fact that Samsung galaxy S2 has sold so many, but how many versions are there of that 1 handset especially in America.

As i am no longer a Android user and there is alot of reason for that its not quantity but quality that is the issue here. The quality of Android just is not there things and still in beta and half baked i will point to Google music and film the film market on Android is a waste of space and music in not even working in the UK and most USA reviews have said its not working thinking about. There have been rumours that Google are now working on something like Siri for Android which again will be a half baked affair because nothing is really finshed on Android is all updates and geting there and doing stuff because others have done it first.

Yep they have growth but Android will eat itself in the end which
is a shame becuse if Google spent time really working on OS not just adding features it could be special is not its just an option if you dont like iOS

Android is not a malware and virus ridden OS. I've had it for 3 years without a fault. The only people that get viruses and malware are idiots that click and buy everything they see without doing any research.

Android is just as stable as iOS, the reason people say its virus ridden is because the approval process for apps isn't as strict as Apple's, doesn't mean its unstable or malware ridden :)

This figure will slow down next year when Nokia goes full force selling WP. It will take its market from Android and it will start the decline of that malware and virus ridden OS.
