impressive figures Android! Taking it to the other OSs.
I agree with the guy who posted about Security. even the iPhone isn't immune to hackers, hackers will get your info if they want it, regardless of which OS you're on.
People are fretting about security too much, it's getting blown out of proportion by the media and government. As long as you are careful about what you sign up for in the marketplace, you should never have a problem.
I've been an android user for 3 years now, and not had one problem with security. If in doubt about any applications or security risks, get in touch with Google and report the issue, they will let u know if it's a threat, and if it is, it will be removed and Google will thank you.

21*12=252m yearly.
0.252 yearly.
1billion in 4years.
7billion in 28year.
Its just a huge number. I bet iphone will never reach this number ever and bet iphone will have a decreasing sale curve in next couple year as people need change. Apples releases one phone every year thats too long. Infact when iphone5 will be launched samsung will surpass its hardware benchmark. I don't understand how iBOYS does remains with that same old crappy design. Android phones are lot better designed, would have like if nokia had decided to go android as they come up with some astonishing designed products.

and 1 MILLION refunds for GTA 3. Seriously, this game is AWFUL. A good example of the problems Android has. Its being panned by reviewers and thats from SGS2 and HTC Sensation owners. Meanwhile the game works perfect on iphone.

The difference is that with Android you know before installing an application what permissions it will get and which data it will be able to access, then you decide.
Security is an issue on every device where you can install what you want, just like in your PC. If you don't verify what you're installing, it's your fault.

I don't know the exact number of human population so I can't make accurate calculations. But you can get the population by surfing the Net. (I used ~0,1 instead of 0,126 because I didn't want to use a calculator and I'm not that good at math)

And as for you clowns who moan about security security security why dont you grow a pair of nads, do you honestly think if the security was that bad they would be activating this amount of handsets a day? i dont think so.
I have never had an issue and so what if i did nothing is fully secure these days hackers will always find a way to get your details if they want them wether its a bank phone or email account but lets face it having worked in a phone shop for a major retailer for 3 years i have had not one complaint about the security of a android device low, mid, or high spec handset and thats a fact.

I think this is possible.
0.7 million per day would be around 20 million a month.
In 6 months(if it keeps up the pace) it would reach 1+ billion.
And the world population is almost 7 billion.

Android provide for everyones budget hence the huge success, Crapple provide for the rich and clueless, They will never see these sort of numbers for that reason alone, you iphone clowns honestly think people should put up with one phone released every year with no varity or choice on price and pay extortinate amounts for dated hardware, how about ford bring out one car a year starting with a cortina and charge £20,000 for it then we can all complain about people buying a toyota yaris for £7000 or for taking the bus because it suits them
