declared as the future and a massive innovation by the kiddies who will probably never own one, and probably first time they try to put it in a pocket will see why its no more convenient than a hip pocket on a singlet.
Bravo to Vivo for being "first" to make something which is essentially impractical

It will be difficult to make any case for a flexible phone, so no drop-protection!

Well first off , this is the biggest revolution in mobile phones since the touchscreen, maybe even bigger. They will be less fragile due to the fact that the screen is FLEXIBLE, ok. They are EXTREMELY practical as it will be essentially a tablet you can put in your pocket. What rational human being would be without one? The biggest downfall will be price in the beginning, but prices will fall. Remember how much a touchscreen phone cost in 2005? They were expensive. but now you can get a touchscreen phone for $30.

You don't need a case on this as the screen itself is flexible, much less prone to breaking, and by "case" do you mean only covering the back or coverimg front and back? In any event these flexible phones will be more durable than the glass rectangle you currently own.

If this render is even remotely accurate, the folded configuration is WAY too big. This becomes pointless if you're not going to design a compact device.

Looks good! And it's nice to see many different foldable phones appear recently. With so much competition, maybe the prices will drop quickly.

How this can be practical when both of screens are on outside?
Unless it is made because technology allows to fold it better

ugly and the way the out-fold looks to be just a cheaper way to stay relevant within the 'fold' trend.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against foldable displays, but when you open it up, the format is kinda silly for viewing videos.
Half the display will be filled with black bars..
Maybe they should consider it turning into a more cinematic friendly shape.
But I do see it's potential in other useful ways like writing, multi-tasking.

Anonymous, 14 Feb 2019good lookingIt's just a render... Renders are like tinder profile pics
If I were to guess, the actual device will have a classic ugly-butt gap where it folds and will be virtually un-pocket-able... Never trust the renders.

yeah, anyone can make dreams but no one can make it alive...CAD renders is nothing, i belive when this be true (if it will be) it doesnt will look like this renders and eighter will be as usefull as it might see.
