On the side note.. no black theme enabled on the m20pro? thats like a rookie mistake?

After watching this review I would never buy this phone..even if it was free.everyone on this forum boasts how great huawei mate 20 pro is.. man I won't listen to them anymore. They must work for huawei..thanks gsm areana for the review..

atb , 16 Feb 2019The mate 20 pro is not a good phone when compaired with Not... moreThe Mate 20 Pro has far better battery life than the Note9, there are tons of Battery comparisons on YouTube showing that, this is not even a part where the Note9 comes close to the Mate 20 Pro.
Both the great battery life and the super fast charging of the Mate 20 Pro set it apart from the Note9. The only real advantage of thr Note9 is the SPen.

the reason why I avoided the mate 20... Not loud enough speaker, and the notch being TOO wide. (or even existing)

EMUI sucks? On stock UI maybe. Themes it the way u like, its all good. My settings on Mate 20:-
- Nova Launcher (latest updates works well with gesture navigation)
- Power Shade notification
- Sony Xperia XZ3 themes for EMUI 9 lockscreen & icons (search on XDA Forums)
Now i feels like rocking Oxygen OS lol.

Anonymous, 16 Feb 2019They destroyed this phone with awful speakers and terrible video.Speakers are not awful, just average. Previous Mate 9 & 10 got way better loudness & quality.
Video recording terrible? Have u experience it yourself? 1080p quality are among the best out there, 4k quality also above average quality for me (they even fix the edge jelly effects on recent updates). The downside are on low lights environment, which results with jittery effects because of only using EIS. All phones with EIS are like that. For me, OIS on Iphone XS is the best for video recording.

The mate 20 pro is not a good phone when compaired with Note 9 the note 9 has a much better ui is more userfriendly better optimize looks better batterylife is also on pair with the mate 20 pro all in all the Note 9 is also much more durable you get much more for you money with the Note 9

I use this mobile extensively, some of the nit picking like finger printer reader light, slippery handling, notch face detection not happening or not at all issues for me. Which is better than iPhone XS Max in most of the features. Sound quality may be an issue for those who use mobile extensively for watching videos.
The real reason for the software sucking is due to the reason Hawei EUMI mimics useless iOS in various aspects, look & feel, gestures etc... Tough in few places it is good like in the video review.
As a still camera this is the best in the market.
It has all features (minutes Headphone jack) including IR blaster. Best value for money...

That is strange. I am using Mate 20 Pro now. For me, Face ID log-in has been close to 100% accuracy and Finger Print is crap. Finger Print has been like 30% accuracy that it is so frustrating. It is a problem when I have to log-in with Finger Print for Banking app. Oneplus 6T's under screen finger print is so much better. I would say 80%+ accuracy.
The only Cons I have with Mate 20 Pro are finger print sensor and bigger Notch compared to P20 Pro. Because of bigger notch, app icons don't fit as much when you get notifications. At least there is notification LED. Other than that, very happy with Mate 20 Pro. It takes very good photos and battery last so long. Also, charging is very fast.

Nobody wants to hear whatever is playing on your phone except you, so stop polluting the surrounding with the noise from your phone. Use headset instead!

For instance, it's weird that you're complaining of Mate's front facing camera when all Galaxy phones have beauty mode that cannot be disabled at all.

Pros:

Network connection is very
My experience screen Unlock is very fast even in low light (no need to swipe unlike iphone)
Transferring Files over Hi-suite is superb using computer
Cons:
Same problem: EMUI lack of features
Speakers : for my S8 is much louder than this unit I can't hear sounds clearly when my wife watching on youtube using the S8 .
Note taking App: purely notes I need to download evernote on this unit to get the add image features unlike Samsung notes I don't need this another app.
Reverse wireless charging: is just a gimmick due to very slow. 10minutes still on 1percent cmon!... this is cheating :-P. you may remove feature, instead add more speaker on top like Mate 20x
Front camera - to soft ever beautification is already turned off
Rear Camera - need more adjustment clarity is not high as the old S8
Ultrawide came - fish eye need small adjustment looks like oblong to me on some pictures with people on the edge of the camera :D
