Kabbi, 16 Feb 2019I think Huawei will be banned in all nato countries. here i... moreThat's unfortunate. Huawei has the best 5g telecom equipment on the market. Norway will miss out big time. France and Germany don't seem to have a problem with Huawei:

Even the UK said Huawei is manageable and not a big security risk:

Chrsjns, 17 Feb 2019Kirin 980 bridged the gap, it is not much slower than SD855... moreKirin 980 and SD855 have same CPU. 4 cores of Cortex A76 (branded Kryo 485 in SD) and 4 cores of Cortex A55 (branded Kryo 385 in SD). Kirin 980 A76 only working on much lower clocks giving far longer battery time.

      Memory controllers have same capabilities.

Real difference comes in GPU. Adreno 640 in SD855 is much performer than Mali-G76MP10. And it's capable of stable 2160p60 record. While Mali-G76MP10 is incapable even of stable 2160p30. Hopefully this would be addressed in Kirin 985.

Kirin 980 bridged the gap, it is not much slower than SD855, but it still hard to swallow the fact that the chipset is a generation behind( 980 is so formidable that it is half a generation behind). Why they don't put a SD 855 for the P series, and put their own kirin on the mate, this way their flagship will always be in front of the other brands.....

The death of 1440p screens, especially non pentile ones is highly disappointing. It seems the Chinese manufacturers are behind the move to ditch 1440p, with Meizu ditching it for their latest phones. The few remaining 1440p screens are lentils oleds or LCDs (LG uses a white sub pixel rather than RGB for increased brightness on the g7).

I find this so massively disappointing, I moved from a 720p screen to the LG G3 and it was a day and night difference, I never stopped to be stunned at how sharp the screen is even after years of ownership whereas with almost all devices, you fall out of love with it very fast and the star feature is outdated quickly. Unfortunately my LG started to get slow and the USB port stopped working (another reason I don't like the lack of 3.5mm) so I had no choice but to buy a new phone to preserve the date of my data as when you move to an SD card, you lose the original date modified.

I now have a Nokia 7 plus which has a 1080p RGB LCD which I use alongside my LG G3 and I can't tell you how much I miss the sharpness of the display of the LG, even if I get much better battery life on my new phone. I thought that displays world get sharper or move to 1440p at the very least, instead we're back to 1080p, odd aspect ratios with curved edges and sides, holes and notches on the screen etc.

I am also frustrated at the movement to insist that you can't percieve better than 1080p, I'll happily blind test. It feels like we're living in a dystopian world where we've stopped striving for better instead putting ridiculous features like notches that mar the experience removing the Jack, and we're regressing on hardware.

No wonder phone sales have declined world wide.

If they continue to lock bootloader of their phones I will not buy Huawei phone again. I do not want emui. I want to root my phone. I want freedom.

i see huawei is struggling really hard as they are banned most of the places

I think Huawei will be banned in all nato countries. here in Norway the government already announced that they will drop a lot of deals with Huawei due to the US and Huawei situation. ridiculous

Thab33f, 16 Feb 2019If so, by 2020-2021, u can't buy flagship phones anymoreI already can't buy most of the flagships. I can only buy a few cheaper flagships and midrangers, but I don't mind, the midrangers of today cost as much as the flagships of a few years ago. I don't need a bunch of cameras om my phone, for example, one decent camera is enough.
