And most others were 720p and 1080p. And 4.7 to 5.1 inch displays. That also were not as bright.
That was then. Cups, GPU's, socs, process nodes, efficiency, batteries, the os, and display tech has moved a little since then.
Not to mention the same old bs non factual claim that the difference can't be seen. As well that it is vital to things like vr.
And hello!! Did you forget the resolution comes at 1080p natively and can be user changed at will between 720p,1080p, or 3k. Because QHD aka 2.5k...not 2k which is basically 1080p.... is not what's on the galaxy. It's 3k now. And they run fine.
And soon there will be 4k. And again you will be able to lower the resolution and it will have its uses.
Stop trying to hold us back.

alnherco, 20 Feb 2019I had my eyes on P30 pro but that FullHD+ display turned me... moreDefault settings are full HD. You don't use QHD o your Samsung device. Because of battery life. That is why I use P20 pro and this year in april I will buy P30 pro too. Peace. :)

Unless some major secrets come to light here soon this has got to be their laziest attempt. Even if the tech is overall on ahead or at least on par.
Then you have Google and Sony charging an arm and leg while letting apple catch up in ram.

Those prices are insane when lined up against the Chinese brands. I get that people are tied into Apple and have little choice now but to pay their silly prices. But come on Samsung, with Xiaomi, Oppo etc all breathing down your neck, coupled with a lack of any real developments in the mobile phone space (a bit faster, a bit better camera, hardly worth rushing out to upgrade), why is anyone going to buy this?
