              Hopefully it has OIS.

[deleted post]I'm not sure if you're trying to troll or not, but you're pretty stupid if you actually think that all smartphone users will be satisfied with the quality of a budget flagship like Mi 9. Some people want better phones by paying more, and you should respect their decision instead of straight up insulting them.

[deleted post]While all specs, all features and all technology and even the design look the same among the brands, what is your final assessment? For budget-minded buyers, it will be the price and for unlimited-budget-minded buyers, it will be the User Interface design (I do not say the prestige as everyone has their own prestige definition)

If the lens has a good quality, then this is definitely an achievement. Though it doesn't seem to have OIS, so in extreme low-light conditions there should be no noise advantage over some phones with OIS as the phone will choose a smaller exposure time. Though this indicates how smartphone cameras can improve in the future. I guess in a few years such a camera will also have image stabilization. Furthermore the good f-number reduces diffraction, so 48 megapixel images could be sharper in the future.
It's strange that Xiaomi doesn't use this lens in the regular version.
