outdated..gfx score is better than apple and the cpu scores on apple are marginally better and on day to day usage samsung and apple remain almost the same..personal preference there.

On CPU tests it was ok... But on GPU tests it was completely sh*t!!!!!!
You can't compare a 700MHz GPU, with a 1100MHz GPU! The difference is day and night...
I hate Apple.....but damn their phones have the best performance out there! Sorry Samsung, but in that category they are years ahead. :(

shniderx93, 23 Feb 2019yes,they're pretty much equal indeed . only 1 frame differe... moreI used both version of S9 plus Exyons 9810 and SD 845 the only thing better on S9 plus SD 845 gaming performance that all about it other than that Exyons 9810 better. Exyons 9820 way better than SD 855 including the Mali G76 MP12 yeah not as powerful as Adreno 640, but still not far behind.

just compare the 9820 to the 9810 of the S9, and see the huge improvement in every GPU test, it did live up to my expectations

Anonymous, 22 Feb 2019Mi 9 is king according to charts. and priced better. Snapdragon 855 is a weak chip. Clearly blown out of the water by the stronger Mongroose cores. It benchmarks well in tests that GPU matters. However GPU matters almost nowhere so you can safely disregard those tests. Even Exynos GPUnis strong enough to run all the weak android games, so (ofc) Samsung maximized CPU performance instead of GPU. CPU in things like video/photo editing, Dex sektop computing (espec if your run Ubuntu), lost processing. Pretty much everywhere. Exynos is better

Wasn't it for the s9 that they locked the performance of the exynos for 4k 60fps recording vs snapdragon?? Or s8? I don't remember..
And at the current specs.. I'd like the decrease in performance to reflect as better battery life...
And everyone is just ignoring how large these day to day apps are becoming...

So the M4 cores are based on the cortex A75 or A76?
Anyway I would have preferred to have 4 M4 cores based on the A76(with the max supported amount of L1[64KB], L2[512KB] & L3[4MB] cache) and 4 ML4(or M4L, L for lite) cores based on the cortex A55 (and instead of 8nm, 7nm EUV lithography if it was ready for mass production, it would have been awesome).
I maybe wrong but I know that Samsung doesn't design from scratch their cores, the take the blueprints of the cortex ones and improve upon them!
Now about the GPU, here thankfully chose the latest offering from arm, the Mali-G76 with 12 cores, last year with the Mali-G72 they chose to put 18 but at a lower clock speed but it would have been awesome if they used the fully loaded version of the Mali-G76 with 20 cores and 4MB of L2 cache! Anyway I hope next year that they will offer a custom GPU build upon the blueprints of the upcoming new high-end GPU offering from arm!
*Also instead of using ARMv8.2-A, it would have been awesome to see them making the CPU ARMv8.3-A or even ARMv8.4-A compatible, the A55 and A75/76 support up to ARMv8.2-A but with the custom design the could make it possible to use the ARMv8.4-A, because the Apple A12 Fusion uses ARMv8.3-A.

Even with the throttling, the A12 score higher or equal than the 640 at peak. Heck, its even more efficient too!
