The new device is the fastest and slimmest foldable smartphone.

The bulged edge to one of the back sides is flush when folded - but what happens when unfolded? You won't be able to lay this thing flat on a surface?!? Infact, wouldn't this encourage over-folding the screen when pressing the middle when it's opened? Pressure on the centre vertical 'spine'?
IMHO Xiaomi's 'outwardly folding' version is better than this.
Ultimately I'd prefer the book like folding version of Samsung's effort - who wants to spend $3k for so much damageable screen real estate?

Way better design than the Samsung. Primary camera used to take selfie as well so the quality is gonna be great

Am I in love with it or what?

stanley, 24 Feb 2019There have something call screen protector film... Samsung ... moreI'm sorry i thought we were talking about foldable phones here? Unless your trying to tell me there's a compatible "screen protection film" out there.

I hope this is just a prototype unit, as i can already see major deal breakers.

            1) I can literally see a crease where the phone is folded, and the way the light reflected off the screen makes the screen feels like a cheap transparent piece of plastic.
            2) He needed quite a push to snap the phone into unfolded position, this feels really really cheap.
            3) When folded, the screen is wide exposed on the back? how to deal with the inevitable scratches?
            4) Generally the build feels cheap compared to Samsung's, yes Samsung's primary 4.7" screen is a bit small for my liking, which is why i will wait for next gen.

Im not a fan of any special brand, but i like big display phones, so big display is my top priority.
The next coming years will be so exciting with 2in1 phones.
If i have to choose between Sammy and Huawei F phones, Huawei is a truly winner in most ways.
But even we have read and heard and seen vidoes etc. we still cant be 100% sure about what the fact is.
And besudes this, there will come tons of other brands with their version of a F phone.
5G and F phone... Wauvv, gonna be some nice years.
The only player we probably don't get to see the next few years is apple...

                $2600??
If I had to buy, I'll choose the Galaxy Fold at $2000 without blinking an eye.
Samsung has beaten them at their own game. It has more competitively priced products such as the Galaxy Buds & now seemingly Foldable phones which offer excellent value for money.

I prefer this design more than the Galaxy Fold because it doesn't have a glass back or awkward gap but I still find the dimensions when folded too large. I can deal with it since it's similar to my LG V20 except being a little taller and thicker but I much smaller dimensions.

Can some OEM make a size from the iPhone SE to iPhone 7 range when folded?

I think samsung fold already lose even not yet release.. first i saw galaxy fold, i really like it. But now, I change my mind. This is the one....

                      $2,600? LMAO!

The concept is great though. Better than Samsung's because there is no gap there.

Wasn't expecting it to cost much more than the GALAXY FOLD, but nonetheless, it's better than the latter in my opinion. The presence of a NM card slot (though I don't see this as a dealbreaker given the fact that it packs 512GB of on-board storage), a display with more screen real estate, a KIRIN 980 (doesn't perform as well as the SNAPDRAGON 855 found in the latter, but who cares? It's fast anyway) alongside with their own 5G modem, slightly bigger battery, and faster charging? It sure looks competitive

Huawei innovation is way ahead of Samsung and Apple.

As expected, it is far better than the one Samsung unveiled. No ugly notch on this one. Not fat or ugly design. It is thin & light with minor bezels. Better than what you would expect from a first-gen device. Bravo!

Looks nice, but the whole idea seems pointless: a giant phone folds into a huge phone.
