"The phone combines the images from all five 12MP cameras, sometimes even multiple frames from each of those, into a single image with a spectacular dynamic range"
I think a potential downfall is in the video recording department. I can't imagine this phone would perform the multiple-camera-image-combining trick similar to the stills photography part. Hence the relatively small sensor size is at a serious disadvantage in lower light conditions compared to the other phones with bigger sensors.
Any mention of OIS?

Hmm... 5 sensors but they all do the same thing. So basically what the OnePlus phones do? Hehe
Still, I'll wait for proper image samples before dissing it any further.

Anonymous, 24 Feb 2019Yes... we dont mind camera bumb or size...we need big ones ... moreU have not actually learned about that technology. We don't need huge camera bump now as Light's Technology in Nokia 9 Pureview can give that same big mega pixel (60 MP as said by Juho) without using a big sensor instead computation of photo taken from 5 camera to make a big MP photo and without even making the phone heavy.

Where is the big battery? Where is the audio jack? They even removed the FM Radio to put 3 monochrome tiny sensors instead of have more useful features, even no telephoto or wide angle camera. So the number of cameras seems more a way to distract and fool people from the old SoC and design more than anything else. If their software will show again lower performance in low light than competitors it'll be a big flop when the depth reviews come.

So it's actually a six-camera setup as it has a TOF camera.

zoki, 24 Feb 2019s10e is way smaller and it costs around 150€ more than 9 pu... more€150 more? U realise the market price for S10e is just $750? Or r u confusing it with regular S10? Nokia 9 costs $699 and that's only $50 cheaper than an S10e. Also in terms of pure screen area, S10e is only slightly smaller but offers a much smaller footprint thanks to it's design.

Wasted op... more"The reason Nokia decided against telephoto and wide-angle lenses is because it allows to keep a slim profile of only 8mm for the phone without any camera bump. They also want photographers to treat this smartphone as if it was a real camera with a fixed prime lens."

Interesting phone and concept....5 cameras to give you one type of picture.... ultimate bokeh. It's risky and limiting and potentially more people are looking for telephoto, depth, wide range field of views on their cameras rather than one unique type of picture. However that's not to say that this can't give you a great regular picture even if you aren't into post processing. Strange that Nokia would put alot of time into a phone with limited production volumes.

No wide Angel no telephoto? 3 monochrome sensors? Wasted opportunity.. Battery capacity is disappointing. Limited Production to create artificial demand.

That's it I'm getting off the hype train. I'm moving away from HMD Nokia and I was looking forward for a flagship replacement of my near 2 year old Nokia 8.
Not only it doesn't have a headphone jack but the cameras man. 2 RGBs and 3 Monochromes and an extra cam for ToF. I don't expect HMD Nokia to make a phone with redundant sensors. Have each for Normal RGB, Telephoto, Wide, Ultrawide and Monochrome. I'm sorry.
I hope that HMD Nokia will release a true Nokia 8 successor with SD855, better speakers, f1.6 1/1.x >40MP Quad Bayer camera, same Nokia OZO microphone tech, with a 3.5mm jack and for the same price of $550. Or rather, I expect Nokia 9 PureView SD855 version to include whatever I said.

Leo, 24 Feb 2019Since when Nokia make a camera sensor lolol..I never said Nokia make camera sensor, but it's not as big or bigger than either the Lumia 1020 or the 808 PureView, for crying out loud!

S10e has 4K 60fps and Steady Shot in video, which is unreal and damn good. Also a wide-angle camera and perhaps with a gcam it'd all be even better.
This Nokia still sounds worthy of some interest, but quite meh at this point.
