Analyzing that banana photo: "Look at that subtle noise reduction. The tasteful color saturation. Oh my God, it even has true depth-of-field."

Exif data says that the full frame equivalent aperture is f/14.2 , so these are ≈14.5mm² sensors ≈ 1/3.3" type sensors

The pictures that HMD has provided look far better than the ones that GSMArena team took. I wouldn't believe the HMD ones to be honest. Wait for reviews & authentic image samples before you make your mind about buying this phone.

Mi9 is better than this phone and it's cheaper. Nokia 9 may take good photos (better than Nokia 8) but not the best.

Walter C. Dornez, 24 Feb 2019Ikr? It reminds me so much of the 1020 camera from the time... moreThe 1020 still produces shots that are as good as some flagships. Actually beats Huawei for some.my 950xl also produces some good ones. In fact, I took some low light shots, omg, it pulled out some excellent colours.

Nokia's official statement said that they were shot AND edited on the phone. I know Lightroom on mobile can only do so much, but I'm skeptical. Could the writers please differentiate which are Nokia's edited shots and which are genuine, unedited shots from the team?

I must eat my words. I was skeptical with the Light l16 company association. But this smartphone seems to be listed for the Smartphone Camera of the Year. I am checking the price of it right now. I also wanna check the video quality it can shoot.

Walter C. Dornez, 24 Feb 2019Ikr? It reminds me so much of the 1020 camera from the time... moreIndeed! I can't wait for the SD 855 version. That should definitely do much better in terms of performance too and seeing the price of SD 845, I think it will be a huge hit.

Gsmarena, where are the 60 megapixel sample images. At the official presentation today HMD said that the Nokia 9 takes 60 megapixel photos and in certain conditions even 200 megapixels.
