Note9 User, 27 Feb 2019That's a great deal, Amazon's lowest is $163.You have to buy used from eBay. This is 1st gen Pixel. In fact I bought a 32GB Pixel (~$50) and a 32GB Pixel XL (~$80) - both with tiny scratches on the screens.

The S7 will be my last from Samsung as I find their updates are not OK with me. I find that it's cheaper for me to buy used Google Pixel or budget China phones which come with more recent Android. My $50 Google Pixel(from eBay) has Android 9 & latest security update.

abigfanoftechs, 26 Feb 2019As iOS source code isn't public, it's hard to tell if any c... moreS7 is a great phone from March 2016, & you got 2 major OS updates from Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), to Android 7.0 (Nougat), to Android 8.0 (Oreo), yes Android 9 (Pie) with One UI would be nice, but you should still be receiving Security updates (which I consider to be more important), I got 3 years & 3 months (last 1 was June 2018) with my 2015 S6, I really hope you get more because you should.
I expect more like 5 years security updates with any 2019 flagship.
The MINIMUM of Security Updates should be:
3 years= Entry level
4 years= Midrange
5 years= Flagship
ANY manufacturer which provides less should be named & shamed, any achieving or exceeding should be praised.
So a big thumbs up to Apple for keeping it's users safe.

I have an iPad 4 which is on iOS 10 and it is working absolutely fine. I play games on it as well as using it to watch YouTube videos and for surfing the web.

You don`t know what you Are talking about! The updates has been Great so far and I have got them much longer than Android devices does... pity... the os upgrades Are Great in Apple environment. The prising is terrible except the basic iPads though. But you pay for real long time of upgrades so if you plan an pushing same phone 20 years Apple seems to the way to go... i have Android phone now and it is getting to the end of line of upgrades only after 3 years of usage... why? I could easily use this phone at least 3 years more if there would be os upgrades...

Anything more goes to serve 2nd-hand buyers or the minority of people who hold on to their phones longer.

As iOS source code isn't public, it's hard to tell if any changes were made to underlying OS for those older devices. For all we know, Apple just did a bit of refactoring and increase the version numbers.
However, Samsung is still shit with their updates. The Galaxy S7 which is around 3 years old has been left for dead w.r.t updates.

If i had apple i would be afraid to update due to slowing speeds after every update. Last year flagships can last 1 update then any other will make them crawl.
After 3-4 updates even a mudcrab will go a lot faster.
