Meizu 16s photos leak: 6.2" AMOLED screen, S855 chipset, 48MP camera with OIS

26 February 2019
There'a 6.76" Meizu 16s Plus in the works too. No notches or holes, Meizu calls this "quad bezel-less display" (a lot of words to say "normal").

Why can't all manufacturers adopt this design? No notch, no cut out, no moving parts, just the most minimal bezel wide enough to fit the selfie cam(which is still narrower than the chin of most phones)... I mean it just makes sense!

Anonymous, 27 Feb 2019how did you predict it better than Samsung's One UI as it v... moreWell, I'm sitting here with the base Galaxy S10 in my hand and there's an S9+ in the drawer.

The new "OneUI" is definitely an improvement over the previous "SamsungUI" which was better than the "Inspired by Nature UI" and "TouchWizz UI". There are too many little points to mention here in text, but I think you can find videos that explain the differences. I think MKBHD did one not too long ago.

FlymeOS has been one of the least updated UI in the field. However, I think they were quite a far distance ahead of Google and other OEM's when it came to intuitiveness, that its more of a case as the other parties catching up. If I could have my choice of OS on my phone, it would be between:
      - Stock Android (if software updates guaranteed),
      - or a fully kitted out ResurrectionRemix (absolute feature-pack),
      - or FlymeOS (most fluid and intuitive out there)

And I should note there's a lot of interest in porting FlymeOS to other devices, but its rather difficult and a small team, so you usually don't see many progress beyond Beta level to Stable ROMs.

I'm so lost. The best choices among the MWC phones are the Samsung S10e, LG G8 ThinQ and Meizu 16s. I lost hope for HMD Nokia at the moment and Sony Xperia 1's sensors are still small.

What would you guys rather get? The easy choice, that Crystl Sound Display tech (that and the QuadDAC is the reason why I pick this) or the cheapest but has an innovative UI FlymeOS?

Anonymous, 26 Feb 2019Battery should have been 4000+ mAh. If the battery is 3000.. People will say it should be 3500..

IF the battery is 3000.. People wil say it should be 4000..

Lol.. That's because of less knowledge people! The capacity of the battery is depend on the overal size of the phone especially the thickness.. The size of SoC is also matters.. That's why mid class phones have bigger battery becauase the usually thicker and have smaller SoC.. So they can put larger battery inside the body.

DJ FROST, 26 Feb 2019bro i dont think you've seen anything, i saw it had it in m... moreThe Samsung galaxy S10 series are on show in Carphone warehouse retail stores in the UK and three stores, I can see the curved edges have colour shifts and the punch hole camera is bigger than I thought.

To prove I did see the S10, in the settings menu for display, Samsung have simplified the colour modes to vivid and natural from amoled basic, cinema, DCI and adaptive display. I could not know that without seeing them as there is no mention of that anywhere on the web.

I did not criticize Meizu alone, I have been critical of almost all phone makers for downgrading to 1080p Amoed displays from 1440p as the pentile subpixel rendering makes the pixel structure much more visible from a distance, especially on a 6 inch screen.

I have an LG G3 with a 1440p IPS RGB display and I use it alongside a 1080p RGB Nokia 7 plus and the difference in sharpness is night and day, but my Nokia is a mid range, I'll happily blind test my LG with the S10 to show I can tell the difference in sharpness.

On the iPhone XR Apple has better text anti aliasing although that only helps to a certain extent.

Quad bezel display is fantastic! Great job Meizu!!

Anonymous, 26 Feb 2019The thing is - it is very buggy. There is so many issues, f... moreWhat, are you serious?

I experience the same issues with FlymeOS, but only when I use it on a different device (eg Samsung/Pixel/OnePlus) and using an Alpha/Beta ROM. On the official phones, its actually very smooth and polished, much better than MIUI on Xiaomi phones.

Seriously, they have one of the best software out there... second to only Stock-ish Android ROMs (Pixel, AndroidOne, OnePlus). Its better than the LG UI, Samsung's OneUI, and Lenovorola's Weird OS. And much much better than what you get on Huawei and other Chinese brands.

What people hate about Meizu has never been the price or the software, its always the hardware: under-specced and not supporting their 3G/4G radio frequencies. If this handset comes to fruition, and they manage to add IP68 waterproofing, you can bet many people will be interested (me included)!!!

Easier to get the phone out of the pocket with rounded corners then sharp corners that will make it stuck behind fabric.
