"" Quite frankly, our first thought when we saw the freshly announced Nokia 801T was that we are looking at a skillfully made Chinese clone. ""

Well, I don't blame you guys... China's "Copy-Paste" reputation and usual lack of TV hardware in mobiles is to blame for this.

Although I don't think its the successor to the N8... N8's successor is yet to be revealed.

If it will have 4″ inch screen, 1 GHz CPU, 1 GB RAM, 12 MP cam, xenon flash, microHDMI, USB OTG, FM transmitter and NFC, so it will be the best N8 successor. :)

Unfortunately this antenna feature to watch TV will no longer work in the UK as of 2009, due to the digital switchover.

Digital UK turned off all analogue terrestrial signal in 2009; forcing all TV viewers to switch to digital. Analogue methods, such as using an antenna no longer works; however it maybe possible if "freeview" is built into the handset, which unfortunately I doubt will be (as it would add onto the phone's thickness, and currently it looks quite slim).

So perhaps this phone will not be released in the UK, and perhaps any western region too.

GOD, 27 Dec 2011Errm. Why do I need a TV in my phone? A phone is for callin... moreA smartphone should be able to do anything and everything the user wants. If China has a wide selection of programming being broadcasted and the citizens there demand to be able to access it, they should definitely be able to. US broadcasting sucks, so that trend has never really caught on here.

Also, not the first time a phone can receive uhf signal. A lot of chinese phones do.

If you want a phone that is just a phone, get a $20 prepaid POS and chuck your sim card into that. Then, refrain from posting ignorant garbage that does nothing but show your short sightedness.

[deleted post]yes you are right, this is what i mean indeed: for the same value of profit, let's say 300 euros cash, apple sell one iphone 4s in new york and nokia sell 10 models to poor countries. these 10 boxes of their cheap nokias must be carried with rented ships, trucks, al lot of logistic.

OMG, is this what Nokia came out with as an "upgrade" to current N8? This antenna thing is so not cool and the hole phone looks just horrid, it cannot possibly be made by Nokia or is it? I for one thought that if nothing else then Nokias have stood out of the crowd design wise...but this, this is just plain ugly. No more Nokia for me, waiting for Sony to release its Nozomi Xperia phone. 12MP Android phone, here we go.

[deleted post]Apple does not represent the market especially in a sagging economy of the US of the big A, I am sorry but not anymore.A market riddled with credit crunch!! People want to buy an SUV on credit???? How much hilarious can it get? Unlike over here you have money, you walk into a shop, you pay you drive it out. & the same goes for the fancy phone contracs offered across the board,we do not have them. Over here you have thye dough,go to any mobile shop dole out the cash else pacify yourself that you cannot own it right now instead of a 2 year contract. As for your experience of India thats too bad. About the bollywood yes they are kitchen movies!! But its a $13 Bn thriving market where many people from across the globe incuding Hollywood die to earn, working as extra's in the dance troups. The boring sing & dance routine!! But hey that earns you a whopping paycheck, access to elite events. Check that major international artists from Shakira to lady gaga ,metallica,Akon byran adams tiesto have done a gig.
IF you have not heard of SunBurn& if you have not been to Goa then you obviously were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Finally Bucharest is an amazing place that I will visit one day. Good Day to you friend
