Anonymous, 02 Mar 2019same question to the gaming laptop.. what qualifies a lapto... moreA gpu which isn't only mx 130/150 but the likes of 1050 ti,1060,1070,1080,2080.Heavy chase with lots of over heating so you can't use it on your lap.Mediocore quality screen FHD up to better screens with 120-144-260 mhz refresh rate and 2-22 ms respond time..More powerful but energy hungry CPU and sometimes a pc one such as Amd ryzen 7 1700/2700 ,etc.
Usually they come with plastic builds and their lids are plastic with anodized aluminium cover and cool markings in red/blue/green.
Gaming laptops are great work stations for video rendering,high demanding 3D projects,gaming,photoshop,multitasking,etc at a good price.
Usually they have bad battery lol

1. Additional customizable keys.
2. Desktop version GPU (GTX for gaming, Quadro for professional designers or CAD, GT for casual gamers or usual media consumption, MX for better battery life).
3. Dual rear facing exhaust, each one dedicated for CPU and GPU.
4. Atleast 60Hz display.
5. Mechanical keyboard.
For me atleast that's a gaming laptop. Well for now, mobile gaming phones were just phones with better cooling but most of them were still passive and will saturate for 30 to 40 mins of usage. The weakest part is the battery, without active cooling, the battery will tank the heat and will eventually die faster than usual. Phones don't even have the firmware to limit charging. If I am gaming, I'll limit my battery charge to 50% this way battery lifespan will last longer but in a phone, there's no way to do this.

zodiacfml, 02 Mar 2019How is this a gaming phone? It seems like a combo of ridiculous amount of RAM and somewhat uprated liquid cooling these days qualifies a gaming phone?
To date and unless if someone could point the way or cite a link, I haven't seen any empirical evidence of what possible heavy usage/multitasking scenarios that would require an above 4GB RAM configuration (for a phone) to be a must. Android really isn't that bad at RAM management and the way I see it then yes if anyone think that they need over 4GB RAM on a phone to get things done then clearly something namely factory optimization has gone terribly wrong.

LOL, the price is just 1 yuan lower than Xiaomi Mi 9 for similar specs, and suddenly Xiaomi add a one week pre-order service to flash sale ... Competition is good.

No thanks, if it's gaming, I can just buy a laptop. Mobile games are less attractive to many children who play now, HD games are only PUBG, Asphalt, and most are MOBA. With a PC you can play it with emulators, mobile games are very pay to win, lots of advertisements and expensive items.

The rumors have already been out there will be a Redmi flagship phone with SD855, AMOLED, 48MP Sony sensor, a select subset of Mi9's goodies, possibly with Qualcomm 2nd generation 5G modem, premium build quality with Glass/Metal/Ceramic, a price to surprise even "ourselves" (words from the Redmi management).
