The rumors have already out there will be a Redmi flagship phone with SD855, AMOLED, 48MP Sony sensor, a select subset of Mi9's goodies, possibly with Qualcomm 2nd generation 5G modem, a price to surprise even "ourselves" (words from the Redmi management).

What's actually the point of these gaming phones? If I wanted to play a game, I'd get a PC or console, not a phone! Also, besides the refresh rate, aren't regular flagships the same as these "gaming" phones? This is just ridiculous!

s-pen pusher, 02 Mar 2019what makes a phone a "gaming phone"- no, none of those othe... moreNot true a higher refresh rate means the screen refreshes said number of times (60, 70, 75, 100, 120, 144, 240, 300 etc) allowing you to utilize more of the FPS your graphics and central processing units can achieve in a game if they can't achieve more than 60 in the first place a 120Hz display won't make a difference you'll still only experience 60FPS or whatever fps your hardware is capable of putting out in said games.

what makes a phone a "gaming phone"- no, none of those other bells and whistles, what ultimately defines a gaming phone is higher refresh rate. yes, there are only a few games that support such high refresh rate (this is btw different from frame rate, which alot of games can achieve). high refresh rate allows for smoother motion on the screen and more accurate/responsive touches- which translates to better gaming performance. yes, all those other bells and whistles are needed, especially the liquid cooling, but really high refresh rate gives you the upper hand in gaming. i have both the razer phone 1 and 2. i also have tried my brother's asus rog phone for a week. i am not really a hardcore gamer, but i am able to beat hardcore mobile gamers who use flagships with 60Hz screens in heavy graphics games such as pubg and ros. gaming phone is for real- and the only real gaming phones are those that have refresh rates higher than 60Hz.
