Anonymous, 05 Mar 2019So many people upset by this being "too big", and I'm upset... morethen buy Mi 9! Mi 9 is bigger than SE, so you have a choice! For me, I would buy Mi 9 SE, but it got weak battery! So this is not choice, Redmi 3 and Redmi 4 are better than Mi 9 SE, because battery endurance rating is better and also they are more compact. Mi A2 Lite, I did not buy because it did not have MIUI and and MIUI version did not have B20 (not international version) and I expected with Redmi 7 the mistake would be gone. Seems that I need to say goodbuy to Xiaomi and look another company. But again, seriously, not a single compact phone with good battery? Need to use Redmi 3 or 4 phone and buy new battery instead of new phone?

InternetUser, 05 Mar 2019I hope it will have SD632 or better SoC and Note 6 Pro buil... moreSoc is clocked to 1.8gHz (any idea what processor is inside).
And about build, it seems 99% that is plastic (gradient) but still plastic back and the frame. Xiaomi going in build backward it seems :/
Redmi 7 - all plastic, Redmi 6 - all plastic, Redmi 5 Plastic frame, metal back, Redmi 4 - metal frame, and back (with plastic strips for antena)..
Also, really don't understand why there is a reason for wcreen bigger than 5.84", there is a Redmi 5 Plus, Redmi S2, Redmi Note 5 AI, Mi A2, Mi 8 Lite, Redmi Note 6 Pro, Redmi 7, Redmi 7 Pro with bigger screens (most of them are about 200$ or lower in price). It seems that Xiaomi does not know (anymore) how to build good, compact, cheap, smartphone. There is a Mi A2 Lite, but it does not run on MIUI.

Deb, 05 Mar 2019Dear Xiaomi authority, make 5.8 to 6 inches fhd+ super amol... moreredmi 7 is entry low budget phone. Go to Mi 8 for specs like that or Mi 9. Dont expect any brand to just give you staff for free. I want a 4k super amoled with 8gb ram and 1 tb storage for just 100 euros. That doesnt mean it can happen.

Dear Xiaomi authority, make 5.8 to 6 inches fhd+ super amoled display for redmi 7 with corning gorilla glass 5 protection back & front. 5.8 to 6 inches display size is the perfect for any hand of people.Use 48 mp sony imx586 camera with 13mp depth sensor AI camera & front 20mp f/1.7 appature. And make edge to edge bezel-less display with at least 86-88% screen to body ratio.
Then you will gain the people's mind.

will not buy!, 05 Mar 2019I bought because Redmi 4 was normal size. From me.. Goodbuy... moreThats acutally true. Is not like Xiaomi does not have 20 other models (mostly under 200$) with 6"+.. I hope that this is wrong about screen size, it will be better (for Redmi 7) secreen with 19:9, tear trop notch and max 5.84" (like Mi Play). Battery mAh is good, also i hope that there will be Qualcomm Snapdragon 632, not some MediaTek (like P22, or P35).

Ladha, 05 Mar 2019I think they were small because they were supposed to be ch... moreI bought because Redmi 4 was normal size. From me.. Goodbuy Xiaomi!!! I rather buy expensie compact Samsung S10e than affordable big shovel. People do prefer normal size phones what you can operate by one hand and what fits into pocket. There was a poll that showed, most majority of people preferred compact size (if you took all people who preferred under 5", 5", 5,5", 5,8" together as one group, it was way more than 50% of people), but it was interpreted wrong, tooked one bigger screen size what alone was bigger than any other smaller screen size group alone.

For me it is a disappointment, but a lot of people will love it for its affordable price and the features it will offer. Me personally prefer smaller phones, so I sold my Redmi 5 plus and switched to Meizu 15.
