Like you wrote, you can, it's a close call :D

I like Samsung brend and what they doind in phone segment, but i was use Xiaomi phone (even from mid range with SD660) and man that MIUI is more optimized, more lag free, than Samsung phone with last year top processor (S9) and Experience 9.1..
You're right, Huawei, Honor, Xiaomi have build in they apps for manage apps (open, closed, permissions etc), but in like 5 sec you can all that set how you want (if you know where to search)..
This, Mi 9, for the price UNDER 500 euros looking really good, with top spec, and like you see here battery life (91h) is also good.
Even dxmark says that camera is one of the best, video also, so.. Take this Mi9, use it, and then you will know that you wrote nonsenses. There is a reason why this brend have good sales, year after year, it's not only price (Samsung also have mid and low end devices), but OS optimisation, rrgular MIUI updates for months or years, regular security patch etc, evwn in low end phones..

          Are you buying phone based on these numbers or based on needs and what you like in the phone?
