Happy owner of the Lumia 800, i must say that apps are interesting and of quality, X box live games, and you can test all apps, no need to pay before testing as with apple! WP have the right approach. no need to have 30 000 sudoku apps like the I phone

I can't see the positives of changing the lovely WM6.5 instead of improving it!!!... WM6.5 compared to this blocky-interface lacking features it's like going back 20 years :/

Lex, 29 Dec 2011Hi Cliff. I'm someone who has owned an iPhone for 3 years,... moreVoila!! :)\o/\0/\o/\0/...........Thanks a ton for setting the record straight. Even I have never had the privilege of owning one,I cannot but stop smiling at the gutsy post in this forum which mainly comprise of people who have no clue about the features.
I can bet that most of them look at the pictures & form their owned warped opinions......like "OOH ain't those tiles horribe?" stuff like that.
Most people dont even know what apps will they be using to make life simpler....but yes beating other people in forums seems to be the top agenda these days without having conducted due diligence.
It's high time GSM deleted useless comments cause they are utterly misleading.
This Site amongst a plethora of others has always been at the forefront when it comes to reporting the truth & the accuracy.
And finally I wonder how many of these folks do really end up buying one after the bashing trashing trolling has been done, after all the dust has settled.
We have to also understand that in the natural course of evolution everyone has committed a mistake, but the comments sometimes range from pure ignorance to downright hatred which is pathetic.
Anyway thats really awesome job. Kudos!!

Guys, I'm a fan of android but this do not make me a 100% devot of it...and I do like to try different techno...in the past I used nokia soft...with N8...incredible camera!...Using right know galaxy tab 8.9...and I love it!...just sold last month my loved HTC Incredible S to a friend as he was listening from me about how good is to have android instead of ios...BTW...I have an IPAD..that my kids play all the time...reason that I'm not using so much is because, you need Itunes soft almost all the time to do whoerever you want...(almost same thing on WP7...But ZUNE is much easier to use...avoiding erase all your apps and others...)...Now, I'm using htc mozart with MANGO! And I'm not disappointed! It's true that lack some keys apps...like have my skype, viber AND some GOOD FREE APPS to atract more usersmto it! But is a really good software, stable, nice, charmous, easy to use and...DIFFERENT...I do like it! My true love, still ANDROID...but I do not see reason for people that never BUY IT AND USE IT FOR LONG to say bad things about WP...even in the past I used the htc hd mini that was good with WP6.5 but need to recognize...really lack of apps make me offer it...WP7 is progressing and coming with a really good and stable software...

Maybe market place is one of their weakness today but i believe they gonna catch up. Together nokias expertise in the mobile industry.

That's good progress but device sales is more important. 2012 is going to be live or die for WP.

cliff, 29 Dec 2011hi every1. Is windows phone really not worth buying.??? Iv... moreHi Cliff.
I'm someone who has owned an iPhone for 3 years, an Android for 1.5 years, and recently got a Lumia 800 as my main phone - so I know a little bit about how WP7 compares.
To start, WP7 is nothing like WM6/6.5. It was rewritten from scratch to rethink how phones should work. I would say most negative comments come from people who haven't used one- and trying a demo unit in a shop for 2 minutes doesn't count either.
My opinion is WP7 is great, and with Nokia hardware it's fantastic. There are a few areas where it falls behind iOS and Android, but no show stoppers. And it's already ahead in other areas. People complain about things like 'no dual core processors', but WP7 runs smoother on old single core hardware than Android does on dual cores- I like that!
Don't listen to fanboys, go with your gut feeling, and you wont be disappointed if you choose Nokia!

Well, 50k apps and it reallity most of them are unusable crap in x languages. Applications are much more expensive on WP than on Android, Meego, Symbian or iOS. And the WP OS lack even basic user and business features. Worst OS on market.

WP uses Zune to sync files with PC same way you use iTunes with your iPhone. Both don't use Bluetooth and external memory card. Basically WP is iOS without nice apps. Why bother???

                            GO ANDROID GO!

                                    kenrockwell.com/tech/mpmyth.htm

"The megapixel myth was started by camera makers and swallowed hook, line and sinker by camera measurebators. Camera makers use the number of megapixels a camera has to hoodwink you into thinking it has something to do with camera quality."

"The megapixel myth is also prevalent because men always want a single number by which something's goodness can be judged.

Unfortunately, it's all a myth because the number of megapixels (MP) a camera has has very little to do with how the image looks. Even worse, plenty of lower MP cameras can make better images than poorer cameras with more MP."

"Sharpness depends more on your photographic skill than the number of megapixels, because most people's sloppy technique or subject motion blurs the image more than the width of a microscopic pixel."
