Does A... moreNo , But apple implemented it better, and also its not the same notch that you can see on the essential. Take a look at the phones now , most of the OEMs are jumping into "NOTCH" when apple started to implement theirs.
Same goes to foldable phones , once the apple foldable phones will come out most of this brands will copy apple.

Mate X have no room for improvement. On top of that.. have scratches.
Fold have room for improvement.
Fold 1 -> Fold2 ("We made impressive innovation!! We managed to reduce the fold gap by 50%!!") Or We reduce bezel size by 75%!
But Samsung.. will eat their words. They will make fold in, fold out, fold every way possible.

I think the best design would be to fold both ways, when not using it fold on the inside and when using it as a phone to fold on the outside but maybe we'll se this in a few years.

I have just one takeaway from this: Samsung fold is available in the market to buy... (though expensive) mate x is still just a concept phone only demo and 0 availability. So Huawei is in no position to say which is good or bad when they can't even release it in the market at the same time as Samsung.
