I hate the changes to the navigation bar that came with the update. Instead of just swiping or tapping the dot to show or hide the navigation bar, now I have to go into settings each time. I want to get rid of the gestures and get the previous navigation bar back but I am told it is not possible.

          I didn't ever said I use a Samsung flagship smartphone. I played with them in a mall and didn't like them.

          The problem is: the fewer good (for me) smartphones are there in the market, the more difficult it will be for me to choose a new one if necessary. That's why I'm this critical.

          And, please, improve your English. I don't always understand what you were trying to say. Although yours is not terrible)

            Nicolas F, 11 Mar 2019Yes, any smartphone with a curved display is uncomfortable ... moreMove to other things that you dislike although what you dislike does not mean the particular phone is bad.

            - You may feel the placement of fingerprint scanner is bad for you. So why do you still use it and use the phone in general?
            - gesture...hm, I even do not use it as my main navigation of phone. So, i have no comment. Then again, I am confused why you still use Samsung phone then if you use the gesture mainly on the phone.
            - iris scanner. I agree with you that Iris scanner of Samsung is not so good. But then, i use another way to unlock my phone and do not say that the phone is bad. Iris scanner cost phone....yes, but it is Samsung calculation and it is our decision to buy it or not.
            - punch hole....you are talking about S10 family now. I do not use it still. Again, it does not mean the phone is bad. Personally, I prefer the design of S8/S9/A8 like and even I like notch than punch hole, because it places many sensors.

              Maria, 11 Mar 2019I think I just know what you mean. You dislike a curved dis... moreYes, any smartphone with a curved display is uncomfortable - thus it is bad.
              But flagships of Samsung from S8 and Note 8 to current ones are bad also because of:
              - inconvenient placement of fingerprint reader relatively to rear cameras (S10 family has other problem: the reader itself works not so good);
              - inconvenient gesture navigation (example of convenient one is Xiaomi's MIUI 10);
              - S and Note 8/9 families had "Iris scanner" which is gimmick and doesn't deserve to pay for it;
              - S10 family has "punch-hole" cutout for frontal cameras which is:
              1) unnecessary (smartphone should not be bezelless to the detriment of features and common sense, it's not a monitor);
              2) more obtrusive than any kind of notch (oh, scary scary notch!!11);
              3) the option to "hide" cutout can only move WHOLE display down, instead of just paint top bar black (like other companies do) - this is just ridiculous!

Okay, it is surely bad for you but please do not say Galaxy S9 only as not only Galaxy S9 but also other brands, not all, have a curved display.

Sure, the curved screen is stupid, but other things about the phone are great, like the headphone jack, small size, and it's expandable memory. Sure, it ain't the best phone ever, but it's hardly a bad phone.

                      Never knew this was noteworthy enough but alright.

The curved display may not comfortable for some peoples. And about the position of fingerprint scanner of S9/S9+/A8/A8+ 2018, well, I just said that this is the state of art & design of Samsung. At least, this is surely a signature design of Samsung that make different with other brands or even with its own model.

                          Of course, iris scanner can not be compared with retina display, completely different. I just use both to show you that those are the marketing language. For the case of iris scanner, yes, you may feel difficult to use it, like I do, I prefer fingerprint scanner or even face scanner (with IR). But again, this feature does not make phone bad. Perhaps it costs a phone production.

                          For RAM, I forget if S9+ has more than 4Gb. So, if you remember this, why do you still judge the phone is bad anyway?

                          Overall, please for everyone, do not say a phone, no matter the brand is, is bad just because it does not fit with your budget.

So, curved display is uncomfortable and it is unnecessary because its purpose (thin side bezels) can be achieved without making the display curved - and without making it uncomfortable.

                              "Iris scanner" is a feature that I don't ask for in a smartphone. "Retina display" is a name for display with specific minimal value of pixel density. They are not comparable with each other.

                              "when S9/S9+ were made, it is the highest RAM" - what? Even S9+ has 6 Gb of RAM.

This provide UI not only simplicity, but stability and security that any brand, except Apple, can provide.
