              [deleted post]When comparing SoCs, benchmark score is the obvious differentiator, hence it matters. Yet, in real-life usage, it's irrelevant as you cannot tell the difference, because they're all too fast (the flagships, at least).

              So yes, benchmark scores both do and don't matter depending on how you look at it.

Plus I also suspect it will be much larger in size. Not sure such a processor will work on a smartphone. Though it is one insanely good processor. Apple should have mates it with 16Gb and 32Gb 9f RAM (instead of the 6Gb they do). The A12x is one superb processor though. It easily beats most laptop processors out there.

                  not even near to samsung and sonys score, but well these numbers doesnt matter in real life i rather see them go head to head which we already know the result and am not talking to you huawei:)

I wasn't aware of this.... moreI think you should wait for the next iPhone as it is predicted to come with a triple camera setup & possibly a design revision. As for performance difference, there will obviously be an improvement in benchmark performance, but in real-life usage you probably couldn't tell the difference, as the XS Max is blazingly fast itself.

                          AnonD-843592, 12 Mar 2019Thank you very much for the answer. I wasn't aware of this.... moreI got a good feeling about apple going Octa core. as it perfectly demonstrated on their iPad Pro 2018. (5200 points single. a whopping 18.5k multi core. and Apple G12MP7 boasting the muscles.)
                          just to let you know. the standardised A12 has 6 cores of CPU and 4 of GPU.
                          so if you wait to enjoy true power. have the wait toward XI Max.
                          Basing on that. I Can estimate a single core of 5800 and multi of 20k if they really go octa core. if they remain Hexa It'll rest on 13k or so.

                            4k video on my mate 20 pro is disaster !!! They do not allow us to have 4k 60p like all other flagships. Speakers are joke. Emui do not have many options and features. Bootloader is locked. Huawei will not see mu money anymore !!!

                              Do you think there will be a big difference between the A12 and A13 chip from Apple? I'm contemplating buying an Xs Max now. Or should I wait for the iPhone 11 Xs Max?

                                AnonD-843592, 12 Mar 2019Why are the using last years chip in a 2019 phone? I think ... moreQualcomm, Exynos, Apple & Kirin all release only one flagship SoC per year (as of now)
                                ...
                                2015 = SD810, Exynos 7420, Apple A9, HiSilicon Kirin 950
                                2016 = SD820, Exynos 8890, Apple A10, HiSilicon Kirin 960
                                2017 = SD835, Exynos 8895, Apple A11, HiSilicon Kirin 970
                                2018 = SD845, Exynos 9810, Apple A12, HiSilicon Kirin 980
                                ...

                                All phones continue to use that SoC until the next one comes out (e.g. S10 released in March has SD855, but Note 10 released around August will have the same SD855)

                                Similarly, Mate 20 Pro released in November comes with a Kirin 980, and P30 Pro released around April will have the same Kirin 980.

                                Mate 30 Pro will be the one to use Kirin 990. I hope that cleared things up for you.

                                  Though not as fast as the Snapdragon 855, the actual speed different in daily use and even multi-tasking and high end gaming will be minor. We're reaching the limits of noticeable speed on smartphone processors and SoCs.

                                  The next generation of smartphone processors will handle 10-bit video (the Samsung S10 already does 10-bit video recording) and upto 100MP photos, or 12MP photos in upto 1414-bit RAW.

                                  Now the next generation will divide workload more precisely and better. Like DRAM will find itself into every sensor and maybe L Cache into ISPs or othe roars of the SoC. And way more ISPs or better divided ones to handle processing much, much faster.

                                  Smartphone imaging sensors also need a lot faster and better processing. Something that helps they actually produce way more detail. And the sensors need to be sharper and have a lot more dynamic range too.
