As expected Brazil inflation price. Nothing is cheap in Brazil. Even the cheapest smartphone become the most overpriced things when you bring it to Brazil.

You can save all the space in the world, the headphone jack isn't coming back on iPhones or most android flagships even with high end SiPs.

Walter C. Dornez, 14 Mar 2019Seriously? How expensive is an iPhone for you guys?iPhone XS Max 64 GB = US$ 2100

Anonymous, 14 Mar 2019Indeed. What is the average Brazilian income? Or are the... moreThe median income here is R$1.000 - 1.500, it depends on the region, north and northeast the median income is lower still. The taxes are very high. Gasoline here is in the mean of R$ 4,50 A LITER, almost 50% of the fuel value here is of taxes.

So, we had closer parts and space saving! Wow, Cool!
But, at 165 grams and roughly the same size as before, what did you save, dear consumer?

And if the consumer didn't save, who saved what exactly? Damn, my head is dizzy!

What is the average Brazilian income? Or are these expensive prices tax-related? I always assumed that prices in south American regions would be lower than north American regions. At least for things like gasoline and/or food.

Kezkouz, 14 Mar 2019Here in Brazil, the smartphones are f**king expensive -_-How come?

Are the average wages also higher in Brazil or is your government taxing prices so much?
What is sales tax in brazil? In the eurozone it is 21%. I understand that in the US sales tax is dependant on the state and is average about 10%. No idea what sales tax is in Canada, Rusia, China, Australia or Japan. I suspected that japanese and Australian prices would be amongst the most expensive. Just as Nordic countries in European continent have the most expensive prices.

Perhaps GA could devote an article on this? It would be interesting to compare prices of certain (global) models of phones, don't you think?

An iPhone XS 512gb here (Brazil) costs around R$7.500 (U$1.800)... an Galaxy S10+ R$5.500 (U$1.400)...completely absurd
