I hope the end product looks similar to the ICS on the Nexus, because this looks exactly like Gingerbread just a different version

Am I missing something? Watched the video and looks nothing like ICS on the galaxy nexus. Looks hardly different from gingerbread. If that's what the final ICS update is going to look like, nothing to get excited about

Well, I have a GNexus, and despite its numerous failings, Android 4.0 and that HD screen is something you cannot get with GS2. Seeing Samsung's builds of ICS, apparently they want us to keep living in 2011; same cheapo icons, same big fonts (less data on screens). What's even the point of the upgrade? I know as a trade off we will also get Samsung's enhancements (smart dialing, FB integration)that AOSP build lacks, but after actually using ICS, you tend not to care about the little things. It is that good; it is solid, consistent and grows on you. OEM skins were a great idea for Gingerbread and below, but no more...
The worrying thing is that GS3 might have 2.5 GHz quad core processor powering a 5 inch HD screen in a 3 mm thick body, but it will still have the rotten TouchWiz (ditto HTC with Sense, which shows even less progress than TW despite being good once). Then, for people like us, the option will be to stick with GNexus or root GS3 to run CM9. Not ideal.
Stick to ICS guys, please, PLEASE release your enhancements as apps rather than shell tweaks.

Those who own the original Galaxy S are starting to feel the heat now. Sadly, this darling has to finally let go of all the immense love and tender care it has been receiving since birth. At least it will have tales to listen to from the likes of the Wave S8500(read ME) who have suffered neglect their entire life. Welcome to the club Galaxy S users-it seems like Samsung has better phones to think about now,and sadly the S might turn out not being one of them.

godammit samsung! congrats on making ICS looks like crap!
i'm using SGT7 for a year now, and currently using an ICS ROM from xda (it's kinda buggy atm). ICS looks beautiful just the way it is. no way i'm going back to GB.
but this? i feel bad for google designers who have worked hard to redesign ICS only to covered by crapwiz.
