Apple has a much smaller market share than Android. Apple is right to charge the developers of paid apps. There is no fee for free apps. Spotify is wanting the the benefits of free apps for their paid app. Wanting their cake and eating it too. Spotify what about all those Android users you can get money from? Spotify should be raking in the money and not loosing 400 million. I guess Android user are cheap and Spotify needs Apple users. Spotify should concentrate more on Android users.......

Probably you didn't read the context: I said they should change some of their terms.
What I said, that they have a point blocking outside payments.
So.. well... you kind of didn't read the context yourself.

Apple from being the most innovative company to becoming the most greedy evil corporation. Investors are important, but going as far as to trying to kill small players like Spotify, Netflix etc.. by going against the anti competition law just to lick the boots of investors.
This is not about Apple as a company. It's apple leadership. TIM COOK & CO. They are in the mood of anything for money.

TL; DR
"We force companies to use our 30% Apple tax system, therefore it is all their choice using it."
This is why a sensible lawyer ALWAYS tells their client to always keep their stupid mouths shut.

H-1, 16 Mar 2019I hate to say this, but Apple has some point.
Some of the ... moreapple has no point. The point Spotify mentioned is the advantage apple has for it's services because they are not suspect to the same penalty other similar services are facing because of apple.
Since apple introduced a streaming service a d is not taking a 30% hit then other similar services shouldn't. Spotify already has a small profit margin and 30% means they lose money. Apple won't becasue they get a 100%. And the argument being they have to use their payment and not mention any other is just anti compatitive . You can buy from the Amazon. App or any none software app. And apple gets nothing. But they have the limit on software running iOS . And it's fine so long as they don't have a similar service .
Please read and know the context before you side ,because obviously you don't even know what the subject is

Asking an for a cut on purchases / payments made through the app store is logical, as the app itself is delivered through an Apple service (the app store).
Asking for a cut if the end user is paying for a streaming service such as Netflix or Spotify outside of the app store (such as Spotify's website) is wrong as it amounts to saying that the phone itself is owned by Apple, and not the user. To that end, app developers should also not be pressured by Apple if users can subscribe to such services outside the app store. If I pay Spotify on their website, it is a transaction between me and Spotify, delivered through my phone which I already paid Apple for, and hence own.
I am sure Apple would have placed the appropriate clauses in the fine print to enable them to make that argument, but it is wrong, nonetheless (in my opinion).

I hate to say this, but Apple has some point.
Some of the things spotify mentioned are true, and maybe, just maybe, apple should change some terms.
But apple is offering a safe and secure platform for users, and any developer for iOS knows that already, asking for outside payment is like e-bay sellers who ask for outside payment - not safe at all. And offering any platform comes at a price. Once you participate, you're already agreeing to those terms.

Oh man i hate Apple. Apple is literally destroying every single industry one by one and many mofos help and defend Apple.
In my opinion, all platforms must do, what google services do, just raise the price for subscribers of iOS devices. With this way they push Apple back, no one wants to pay 30% only because they pay with iTunes. For example: pay 10€ on Android or Website, pay 13€ on iOS devices. It will be a fire back to Apple and everyone will be happy.

pankajupadhyay, 16 Mar 2019Surprisingly I side with Apple on this one. Why would they ... moreKeep in mind that ALL these developers that supported the platform (iOS) is what made the platform become what it is now. If they did not do that, then the system would have failed in the same way as Windows Phone. It is not Apple's own work only, it is the massive support they got from these developers which Apple should treat well rather than bad.

Surprisingly I side with Apple on this one. Why would they share their pie with someone else? The company has put a lot of effort in putting together a store and ecosystem, and if they can provide a service on that, there is no reason to question it. Spotify or anyone else has to provide a better service at a better price, it's as simple as that. They can't force Apple to remove their music streaming because they own the platform. It's like having a party at your house with no say in the menu. And as far as the commissions go, they are free to choose any model, after all the company spent a whole lot money and effort to ensure that App store becomes what is it today.
