Brand new Pixel 2 XL for Verizon is now just $399.99

22 March 2019
Google's previous flagship is still worthy of consideration, especially at this mid-range price.

Mi9 cost 430 with SD855 latest android latest technologies and supporting 5G,
this have SD835 and is too old. Maybe 150 bucks could be fair price.

i am assuming since you all mentioned one plus and chinese brands you have not owned a pixel 2 XL. Quality control issues?it was all blown out of proportion, unless you get one of the very first early ones, there are no quality control issues, i got my pixel 2 XL when it was 800 euro and have not regretted it for a moment, in fact my friends own a one plus 3 a one plus 5T and a one plus 6, and only the one plus 6 using the gcam software comes remotely close (and not that close trust me). Updates on time, no slowdowns, battery is still a beast a year after, in fact it has become even better with the updates, fluid and smooth , and still beats - when it comes to camera for sure - phones coming out today. if you can get it for this price, get it you wont regret it, didn't get the pixel 3 due to the notch but if rumors are true and pixel 4 doesn't have a notch i am going for it.

Whackcar, 22 Mar 2019If we're talking about long-term performance, clean OS with... moreThat is true, Pixel's only appeal is that Camera+software combination but now with Gcam ports several non Pixel phones, Oneplus can get quite close to Pixel like results without having Google's phones paying an arm and a leg.

The only thing good about this phone is its camera. This phone is plagued with quality control issues and after-sales service issues. So good luck to this having this. Total rip off. It's quality is worse than chinese brands.

MHanz, 22 Mar 2019DOA even at this price, Oneplus 6 is a far better deal for ... moreIf we're talking about long-term performance, clean OS with addons, stable software updates & hardware design. I'd give it to OnePlus over Pixel. It is better than Pixel in those areas.

If however, we talk about the camera, then Pixel has an obvious edge on OnePlus.

But when you consider the price difference between the two, then you have a clear winner between the two.

Kress, 22 Mar 2019Oneminus? Don't even buy this cheap chi-phone. Endless prob... moreWhile is it is a Chinese company under BBK, the OS is pretty much stock and even better at most times than Google's own. Less bugs and less slow downs with age. You lie about software problems or hardware problems ;)

My Oneplus One is a tank, still going to this day, recently changed the battery to Cameron Sino replacement (higher quality replacement) since most "genuine" batteries are from 2015 so practically useless today to buy because of Lithium batteries shell life being 3 years tops from the date of manufacture regardless of being actively used or not.

Got a Oneplus 6 for the mother in-law an even better phone, again with zero problems of any kind.

Community dev for Oneplus phones till this date is going strong. When Oneplus stops support the community just carries on. My Oneplus One is now on Lineage OS 16. Not a single issue infact battery endurance has been surprisingly good. Android Pie has come far. The only thing to note is the sandstone finish has worn off but that's not the phone's problem, that physics, stuff wear out with time especially when handled everyday.

You fakes who pose as Oneplus users can't even come up with a convincing lie LOL it's pathetically hilarious =)

Now am all for boycotting China brands like Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, and the rest because of their hideous homegrown ROMs. However Oneplus is special because the community can take the custom ROM scene to wherever they want, that right there is the main appeal of Oneplus.

              NEXT *shades on*

DOA even at this price, Oneplus 6 is a far better deal for just 20odd dollars more these days.

Crappy display, crappy hardware, crappy google product, only left with another 18 months support. Given that they receive million bugs in each month's updates.. its high risk to even spend $100 for this trash !!!

Whackcar, 22 Mar 2019Meanwhile Google is about to release their trashy Pixel 3a ... moreI'm only reluctant getting a Pixel because it doesn't sync to my MacBook Air. My Essential and my two LGs have no problem using Android File Transfer. The LGs have the microSD to make life even easier in case it no longer syncs.

I've always had an eye for the Pixel 2. The camera is actually of near quality as the Pixel 3. I saw the camera results with Max Lee and the quality is negligible. The lack of headphone jacks gets annoying though which is why I've checked around for a brand new Pixel 1.

I hate the size of these XLs. I'd get the smaller Pixel 2 if only priced at $250. I believe my Essential Phone is superior to it except camera and that's how much I got it for with taxes included.

Meanwhile Google is about to release their trashy Pixel 3a & 3a XL for around the same price. Who in their right mind would choose that trash over this recent flagship, with no cons & just pros over those.
