BelowAverageAndroid, 23 Mar 2019I am starting to get a bit irritated with the "HMD IS A CHI... moreI am not here to bash anyone person, or product, I am here to make a free speech statement like Elon Musk stated and has failing, futile attempt at free speech in my country, where free speech is a law and so should be in the world, a human rights thing is exactly what it is, and when you are harvesting that freedom AKA DATA inn the name of innovation and progress is one thing, the one thing that people in the USA the nation want, and expect nothing less, there's tp compromise, make no mistake censorship of any kind is a none constitutional conformity, communism, a cult, q fascism, the hand full of media controllers, that want to control you, conform you, that does not honor or conform to the the constitution or adhere to the peoples rights, set and written into law and billions have died for these exact rights, to maintain this freedoms of our nations of our countries, above all freedoms, and this is a God Give right also, not to mention religion in the mix, it just comes out that way at times these, along with the rest of those in alliable rights set to law by our for fathers who lived and die by them. Written down by these great men for all the world to follow, to see, and act accordingly)especial your nation and it's people we set the example with the whole world watching, and worlds people will flood the site by masses once the word gets out nothing, nothing but good could and would come of it. But, you'll always have that rich dominant force most times, Mid-evil punk-a puppet to the dark side of humanity, that grinds away at constitution, the truth and the justice, that knows no conformity, knows no boundaries, that take the Oath and omit nothing of truth or facts, that they suggest, live and portray, and offer the same but give censorship, a suggestion, and nothing more, not a way of life or law that you and /or we already have, a right that we already posses for being of human, the same right for all not just the rich or the corporations that we have granted this right to, that's now regularly trying to take ours from us at will, who would have thought? This can not and will never will happen or have success, corporations need people, people do not need corporations! Period, some where along those lines, the corporations have forgotten this. But, when the smoke clears and they're all shut down, billions of live and money wasted, here we go again? Is this evil madness what we've become, a cycle we are destine to follow?

BelowAverageAndroid, 23 Mar 2019I am starting to get a bit irritated with the "HMD IS A CHI... moreYou got that right I have had some one sync my Nokia to my PC and other devices and collect all my private banking info and every key stroke, I was outraged that T-Moble hides that fact from Americans, the fact that china is collecting Americans data and using your devices to limk and hack all devices arounf you as well, this should be addressed by the corporations like google and Microsoft and yet the to say nothing of this fact.

Anonymous, 23 Mar 2019Please thinking deeply to the next level, outside the box. ... moreOutside the box thinking? Your opinion about you is sky positive compared with the words you just said. Can HMD build devices in Finland? First they would need to invest billions in building Fabrics and equip them with all that is needed for the production. Second they need to invest billions in Human Resoruces and need a lot of time and energy to find the right people for the fabric task, or spend bilions into training them. Leaving that aside. In the market they find themselves into, where all bulid thir device in china where the income does not exceed 150€, they have to have a death wish to even think about building devices in Finland where the normal income is 2000€. This will give them no chance on the market, especially having a mass of "xiaomi is cheapper" as potential customers. So, to answer your "question". Nope they can't. But the funny part is, every troll here comments about nokia but ownes a samesung apple or huawai or xiaomi. The amount of s..y amazes me.

The most annoying ones are the trolls, that you do not even know if they are really so s..d as they look like, or are paid to do so or really have nothing better to do with their time and just wait for some articles to let them write something.

Journalists know how to stir up controversy from nothing. When I bought my phone, the instruction manual specifically said that during the first boot and internet connection the device will transfer a few KBs of data for the warranty to start applying. I'm sure Nokia had similar wording in their manuals but journalists don't read manuals, or do they? :P

I encourage all the people defending this cloned dead brand to keep buying their products. Your ignorance is BLISS for black hat hackers!
At least the hackers use their brains and I respect that!
Now run along and make some online shopping. I dare you! :))

this what i like with the nokia and to the people running it. they are honest and they commit their mistake in public not just like other brands out there that money runs in order to hide those issue/s

PunkHazard27, 23 Mar 2019I totally agree with you mate. Nowadays its a common thing ... moreLet's just say that these Chinese brands collect private user data excessively for their motive of "spying", since people like to target them for that. If that's really something super sensitive, then why are Chinese smartphones even allowed to be sold/imported outside of China in the first place? If u don't want any private user data to be sent, then u might as well don't use any electronic device and accept the fact that u have to live under the rock, simple like what u said ;)

xXENDER FREAKXx, 23 Mar 2019Can't really understand why some people here are making a h... moreI totally agree with you mate. Nowadays its a common thing that these companies gather those data's. No if you're the type of person that don't want your data to be gathered then you should not get any of this device or use any sites that gather data. That simple.

Can't really understand why some people here are making a huge fuss about this issue to be honest, it ain't that surprising after all. I mean, even if these NOKIA 7 PLUS-es are installed with the correct software package, private user data will still be sent regardless of whether it's going to the Chinese servers or not. Besides, it's not like as if they're the only ones who are doing it am I right? I'm 100% sure, that even those trustworthy brands such as SAMSUNG collects your data through their servers too, other brands such as Apple, Sony, LG etc are not excluded. Heck, Google and other companies that we know of today has been doing so for the past few years already, and yet everyone's fine with it. Wow, it's sure funny how people treat the same issue with two different reactions, one side being "Oh it's fine, they're sending private user data to improve the software experience", and on the other side being "No, this is unacceptable, the Chinese are spying on us!", like seriously what?

[deleted post]HMD Global isn't a Chinese brand or company. HMD is finland based company which designs and test Nokia phones just like Apple's iPhones than they give their designs to Foxconn to manufacture it, just like Apple iPhones and at last Nokia Corp. approves the phones by doing their durability and quality tests. This is how today's Nokia phones got manufactured. If just because Nokia is manufactured by Foxconn, so it becomes Chinese than what about Apple iPhones?

Anonymous, 23 Mar 2019Please thinking deeply to the next level, outside the box. ... moreWell, you are right, actually. I might need to research more, but sometimes I can be forgettful and post stuff without any evidence. But, either way, the amount of HMD being a Chinese company comments are going a bit too far, and yet it's still going.
