I am starting to get a bit irritated with the "HMD IS A CHINESE COMPANY!!!!!* comments. This is getting really ridiculous. Like, search it up for god sake, the info is in the web. You can't be that lazy.

Y'all going mad when u hear the word Chinese ffs most of ur phone's parts or even the full phone is made in china so I don't get the noise, only god knows what the US has on y'all

Jack, 22 Mar 2019Ha... ha... ha... So they, instead of use their own server ... moreDid you even bother reading what they said on their blog ? Ffs phones that where made for the Chinese market have their servers in China and HND is obliged by the Chinese government to send those data there cause it's a rule but unfortunately some Nokia 7 plus got a bug which has been fixed and hmd said no sensitive data was sent in fact they used the word "trying" to send. I don't know why you re here b****ing about it, everything on u is Chinese

Nokia have already shared this controversy on their website.
I believe on Nokia HMD they have many previous nokia executuves and they have not joined HMD to spoil the most trusted brand Nokia.
Don't believe on bots commenting here and speculating things without knowing the info about this. As usual they will say "HMD is a chinese company" but they are wrong as always
Check here, nokia have shared the info about this incident and what data they collect and why with some nice infographics which is easy to understand.

About the mistake: this happens with every manufacturers and even apple recently have security issues and fixed later on so as HMD they already fixed the issue on february security patch 2019.

Anonymous, 22 Mar 2019Are you joking? No I'm not. We were all once dreamed of getting an Apple iPhone and they're always flagships. Not once they made midrange phones. Now that we're old, we should be getting 8xx SoC series phones. Not 6, not 4, only 8.

We should all buy iPhone, so that our data only get send to US, what a lame excuse to scared people from buying China made phone, same technic to ask country not to use Huawei for 5G facilities.

i rather President Xi getting my data than President Trump, is there a problem ?

A lot of people embarrassing themselves with their comments. This is something all phones sold by China Telecom do. It is also something that chip makers (Qualcomm and MediaTek etc) all provide code for.
