Huawei was confident in their product, hence they sent it to Dxomark & Gsmarena (among many others), hence it was reviewed shortly after announcement.

No doubt it deserves a high score for all the camera lenses and features, but in comparisons between the Mate 20 Pro and other phones, the image quality didn't seem that good. I thought the Pixel 3, iPhone XS and Galaxy S10 were all better.

Anyone noticed that when review is published on the day device is announced there is always a high score?

It's Definitely a great camera. But nobody is replacing a proper DSLR or Video camera anytime soon. Unfortunately.
It is still be a great buy. Especially doe smartphone Photography.

But a few back steps too. Like reduction in dynamic range and the zoom is jagged. Meaning its inconsistent and not really smooth.
