Might even become a reason to sue them for "damaging reputation" accusing without evidence. Unlike Cisco and those nsa certified peripherals which literally has dozen built in backdoor and never received meaningful backslash.

So what comments does the UK have on Nokia and Ericsson? Oh wait, they don't even audit them anywhere the same degree. What a bunch of hogwash.

Anonymous, 29 Mar 2019The Germans have already caught them spying with Huawei gea... moreIf there's proof then let the public see it man. Right now there's basically nothing, just a whole bunch of rumors and unsubstantiated allegations. Huawei has already allocated $2 billion to rectify the issues noted in this report. But it will take some time as they need to implement major changes in their software department. One thing to keep in mind is telecom suppliers like Huawei/Ericcson/Nokia started off as hardware manufacturers. Software isn't their specialty so there's always going to be some shortcomings in the digital software protocols. Just take a look at the recent Ericsson outage which was caused by an expired certificate:

The last Oracle, 29 Mar 2019China better keep good relations with India l, because if I... moreThey don't want to ban Huawei phones. They are talking about telecommunications equipment (like antennas, processors in antennas, all the intermediaries, etc...), since everyone's data goes through these. No matter if your phone is from China or BlackBerry, a simple person or the world's most wanted, you are vulnerable to weak telecom equipment.

Lol at ordinary people thinking they know better than the national intelligence agencies of multiple countries. Just like Huawei itself, you kids are delusional.

Hope India follows the suit. Chinese constitution itself compels Chinese citizens & companies to work for CCP in every possible way.

From my point of view this is just like 100 years ago US banned weed for no good reason and the world fallowed them. Now with 5G from Huawei cause of political reasons and not even for the safety. As of now i still have not seen any news about the flaws these devices have for easy spying or what not. It's all speculation that they have spying gear in them and nothing has been proven on that part.

This is stupid. Just few month ago Ericsson net work broke down in several countries, include O2 in the UK, and let million of people with no phone signal. Ericsson is facing £100m pound fine and yet nobody seem to be questioning their vulnerability but Huawei on the other hand have better track record is facing a ban. Maybe UK deserve to be left alone in the world and go Brexit! ref: http://telecoms.com/494091/ericsson-facing-100-million-damages-bill-for-network-outage-report/

Huawei is already taking steps to rectify these issues - spending 2 billion over the next 5 years to make improvements:

The timing of this report is awefully suspicious right when Brexit is in grid lock in the British parliament. Seems like the British govt is performing a sleight of hand to distract from their domestic politics.

a mix of actual unsafe stuff, spy crap and big money head-to-head confrontation.

that said, huawei is really below par, and im surprised so many buy their consumer phones. they totally skip security so save time and money, and just hope for the best.
on the flip side they're much worse than google and facebook when it comes to privacy, if you wondered if that was at all possible.
