AnonD-558092, 29 Mar 2019Ban. Now. Worldwide. It's obvious that their equipment is... moreReally? What evidence do you have that nobody else in the world is aware of? Because that's the situation, there are only accusations, but not a single bit of evidence. And in fact, America who makes these accusations have themselves been definitely proven to put spyware into its own telecom equipment.

Meanwhile Facebook operates in their country just fine even after that company's founder was being questioned in court.

They will do what the U.S. government tells them to, just like Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and repeat any lie made up by the U.S. It's no surprise.

But I think at some point they will start to think for themselves and stop obeying the U.S. Clearly America will go to any length to get control markets and get what they want, and eventually even the lap-dogs will think it's enough.

I hope our Indian govt will also ban Huawei..

Anonymous, 29 Mar 2019Awesome about time western countries gives China a taste of... moreChina did not ban any company. As long as they follow the laws and regulations, these companies are welcome to do business in China. Chinese laws or regulations never single out a specific company or companies from a specific country. Google didn't want to follow the regulations, then they left China. Same here, if Huawei or other Chinese companies follow UK's laws, they can do business in the UK. If they are not willing to do so, they can leave.

Awesome about time western countries gives China a taste of their own medicine.

China bans a lot of foreign companies from doing business in China so this is totally fair and well deserved. The west doesn't even need a reason as far as I'm concerned. It's their country they can do what they want, that's what Chins does.

I remember the UK released a similar report about Huawei last year but I've never heard any news about reports on Nokia or Ericsson equipment. Anybody heard of them? If there is no such report, how could we know their equipment is better?

I wonder if the UK has similar organizations to monitor and test equipment from other manufacturers, such as Nokia. Can we see their reports?

Garbage? Maybe but no spying, if so they did a horrible job at hiding it. c:

All software and hardware has vulnerabilities and bugs!
Just take a look at Intel!

They are just looking for an excuse and a way to stop Huawei dominance.

China better keep good relations with India l, because if India bans Chinese OEMs their global revenues will crash big time. India is both the fastest growing market and one of the only truly free markets for smartphones.

I believe China is supporting Hafiz Syed a global terror list head. If India bans Huawei and or other Chinese OEMs, we are looking at some huge losses. Maybe a few of those companies (especially Xiaomi) will completely crash.

Things don't always go to trial, and if they do, many times the verdict is false with info hidden and loop holes used. At this level, a country can't take risks like this if they've done enough research and checked that there are vulnerabilities. We are fully in the digital age now where you don't need to deploy a million soldiers and tanks on a country to end it, you can just crush it's financial infrastructure or anything digital for that matter. You could literally farm info and make people vote a certain way without them consciously knowing it (Cambridge analytica etc).
