Wasting money.
And then.. because of their very bad management, they have becomed like "sony-NoEricsson" today. Always very late to innovate, bad design, bad aftersales, etc etc.
Sony-NoEricsson is the stupidest big company i've ever seen.

I remember how Sony-Ericsson was a great cell-phones and smart phones manufacturer... and now its look like everything is fade away after Sony thinks they can do better without Ericsson.
Sony has destroyed Ericsson's hard work with their pride.

Sony has a big problem in their marketing department. they have designed their phone as they wanted and never listened to what the majority wanted. I think bezel-less displays make the phone prone to damage. so finding a nice balance between the market demand and good-for-all is the wisest of all that Sony couldn't do. But they are one of the top innovators behind the uprising of mobile phones. First waterproof phone, first high-resolution display etc. etc.

Both Apple and Samsung have their own problems, but they're far, far ahead of Sony when it comes to smartphone market share. Apple and Samsung don't regard Sony as a smartphone rival in 2019. It's disingenuous to believe that they are Sony's rivals. Delusions of grandeur.
Many of the harshest critics of Sony are former Xperia phone users. Take note of the keyword: 'former'.

And that just makes you lucky that you only had to send it back twice where as many couldn't even get it fixed and many suffered the motherboard issues which were not even acknowledged as existing wine it clearly effects many devices for years.
