OMG why people is acting dumb. You can just disable ads in settings of Xiaomi Apps. If I can disable ads in my ancient Redmi Note 4X then you can disable ads in newer ones too

AverageUser, 09 Sep 2019Youtube sucks because of the ads novadays.
I will not buy ... moreWell i use youtube often as a guide for some games i play like border lands and finding valut symbols which is dificult othervise, and for spending a free time when i have some and dont have anything else to do.
And for the adds any adblocker would do.
In instakled one and it works perfectly.
Until they dont add a thing which will restrict youtube from using due to adblocker i will continue to use it.

I will not buy their premium, if I ever decide to pay for my music - I won't be paying to Youtube, I'll rather pay more to someone else. Simply because of the principles.
I hope that something new will emerge, we need an alternative, Youtube is greedy and user experience just sucks as a result of it.

I've never, ever got something like this on a Samsung.
So you really get what you pay for (unless you buy an iPhone)...

Look for a system app called "msa"and disable internet access for it. The ads will disappear.

Beening using Xiaomi phone since Samsung S6 era. Don really feel it intrusive, at least on official global ROM. Redmi note3, note 4x, Mi Max 2, and now Note 5Pro. RAM usage is fine on my 6GB Note 5 Pro, usually with 3GB remaining even with 3D game and more than 5 apps cached in RAM 24/7. And its not even a flagship phone.
Those who complain probably have not even touch a Xiaomi phone before.

Anonymous, 03 Apr 2019You really do not understand how it all works do you? If, f... moreMan youtube is much older than advertising began on that site.
YouTube is an American video-sharing website headquartered in San Bruno, California. Three former PayPal employees—Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim—created the service in February 2005. Google bought the site in November 2006 for US$1.65 billion; YouTube now operates as one of Google's subsidiaries.
How make funds before and survive until the advertising crap began???
Or at least it wasnt spreaded like cancer everywhere.
All this mess is due to Gary Thuerk and his first adds over enail in 3.5.1978. Since then everything slowly begun.

I do not mind if you browse via Google or playing a game or watching youTube, etc and there are ads. But say NO (with all capital letters) to the User Interface of any branded phones.

Phones with 4+ GB RAM work fine. Try using MI phone with 2-3 GB RAM & you will get how slow the phones becomes/feels. Try doing the same with 2-3GB Android one phone - no lags. That's why wise people go for Stock Android.

For google your personal data is their revenue.
They collect your data, they spam you with ads, they get money.
This is why Android and all google services are free. You are the money.

Alex, 03 Apr 2019When Xiaomi CEO is talking about intrusive ads in MIUI, but... moreAtleast back on MIUI 9 ads were almost non-existent with the exception of the security app, where you could see a small banner on the bottom of the screen, I believe the same was true for the video player as well.
With MIUI 10, Xiaomi seems to had taken the ads to another level, personally I switched to MIUI 10 EU immediately after unlocking bootloader since TWRP didn't play nice with official MIUI 10.

AnonD-731363, 03 Apr 2019Every company even google and youtube should cut off stupid... moreYou really do not understand how it all works do you? If, for example, YouTube removes all the ads, their revenue will go down to a *very* low figure. That's because they get money for advertising. No one may click on the ads but the site would still get the advertiser's money.

I think people are just being a little greedy. Xiaomi is already providing SD 675 in a phone that costs 14000 INR. They have to stay afloat somehow since they're barely raking in profits when they sell their phones. Ad revenue is the only steady source of revenue for them. And for the most part, they can be easily disabled. I know coz I've been using MI phones since a long time and I'm not complaining
