Alex_bg, 05 Apr 2019I think that pocophone receives bigger support (a lot more ... moreOfc you are right!!! I loved Xiaomi but after Poco focus i'm thinking about to leave Xiaomi... Mi8 user

Alex_bg, 05 Apr 2019I think that pocophone receives bigger support (a lot more ... morenope. It seems any snapdragon 845 based xiaomi phone receive the same update aswell. Mix 2s got the 4k 60fps 2 days ago but not reported on gsmarena instead they publish a news that says mix 2s just received the android pie update which is so wrong. Mix 2s is the first xiaomi device run on pie since like 7 months ago iinm and that is global stable, not beta or bullshit.

I have use Xiaomi devices since the Redmi 2 with Official ROm, and the only times I see an ad is when the security scanner pops up after app installation. No other ads outside of that.

I think that pocophone receives bigger support (a lot more updates and new features) than their flagship Mi8. Am I right? And do you think this should be this way?

update- when pulling up the change log on the "what's new" menu it doesnt show the nfc thingie anymore, so really it must have been just a mistake; but it was on the chage log before i downloaded and installed the update. on power usage screen on time doesn't show the correct information- i have been using the phone with the screen on for about 1.5 hour today but the screen on time shows the screen has only been on for 36 minutes. there seem to be no issue with battery usage- i have been able to get 10 hours of screen on time with still like 10-7% left on the battery, i again have used the phone for 1.5 hours now and it still has 91% battery. i borrowed my brother's netflix logins and indeed it still doesn't have an option to stream in hd, as mentioned by a commenter. the issue with the status bar not showing the notifications at least long enough is still here. it is not mentioned in the change log nor on "what's new", but it seems that the backlight/screen is much brighter now under direct sunlight. will test some more in the next few hours and update here. something i wanted to try is if there will be any heating issues, but i don't have the luxury of sitting down and spending time on games at the moment.

s-pen pusher, 05 Apr 2019i actually have been able to turn off the ads from day one ... moremy friend's mi9 is an ads machine. some are inapproriate too.i remember he attempted to turn off the ads without any luck. but hey, he's a fan of xiaomi so he probably turned a blind eye on it.

realitychecker, 05 Apr 2019do the ads get updated too? :Pi actually have been able to turn off the ads from day one and have not been bothered since. i believe in some of their devices there is no option to turn off the ads, because my wife uses a redmi s2 as her back up phone and it didn't have an option to turn off the ads.

POCO team is up to their promise. Can't wait for F2.

do the ads get updated too? :P

received the update 10.3.4 on mine last night 04/04/2019. i don't have a netflix account anymore since june last year, so unable to test the widevine l1 support. the game turbo is ok as well, and the floating apps are just ok. items on the notification area are a little bit bigger and have been centered to the height of the notch. on the change log it said it also has included nfc toggle on the notification shade, and imagine my surprise because all this while we thought the f1 doesn't have nfc chip in it, but no, there is still no nfc toggle in the notification shade. there also is an option now to stay on the lock screen after face unlock (you have to swipe up to go to the home screen but you won't be prompted to enter the pin or unlock with your fingerprint). i havent tried all the other items on the update yet, especially those that were mentioned in the article- 4k60, app face lock, and new ai modes in the camera. the change log mentioned several bug fixes including that of the notification light, but no mention of the bug wherein notifications only briefly appearing on the notification bar nor reinstatement of option to hide the notch. one thing i have noticed that appears to be fixed now but was not mentioned in the change log is the auto-brightness calibration wherein brightness is not properly calibrated with the available light (it can either be too dim or too bright), then since you now have an option to stay on the lock screen after face unlock you also now get an option to set a time for the lock screen to remain lit. will update here tomorrow for any other observation such as battery usage.
