Anonymous, 10 Apr 2019All brands become greedy when they get closer to the top. L... moreExactly. Top brands they all the time put massive prices this is how they reap benefits of being the most popular. Even if Huawei will become top brand, people will start to hate them too, cause they going to charge more as much as Samsung or more, their phones already matching Samsung prices especially in developed countries, there is no real winner here for consumer. You win when you het top specs for cheap price, whi cares who is on top

Anonymous, 16 Apr 2019So by your logic Samsung who have the superior displays, si... moreFirst, they DO charge more. As i said, i got brand new P30 Pro for 720 euros. 128gb Galaxy S10+ costs 999 euros here.
Second, superior displays? Only in resolution as P30 Pro uses Samsung amoled. By YOUR logic Sony Xperia 1 display is vastly superior compared to Samsung flagships. (And it is, btw. Samsung doesn't have all the screen tech Sony puts into its flagships)
Pro has card slot, so? (Even if it didn't i wouldn't care ase 128gb is more than enough for me.) Pen? Only Mates have it and it's so niche. Similar battery life? You MUST be kidding. Dunno about wireless charging because i don't use it. But conventional charging is faster on P30Pro. Better UI? Highly subjective. If you like bloated laggy UI-s, then yeah, it's better for you. So there's only 1 thing. Headphone jack. I won't pay 279 euros extra to have headphone jack and lose everywhere else (except screen resolution). And I won't even start comparing cameras.

SpiritWolf, 10 Apr 2019Well. Older models didn't have oled panels, periscope zoom,... moreSo by your logic Samsung who have the superior displays, similar battery life, headphone jack, SD card slot, S-pen, superior wireless charging, better UI should be charging even more than Huawei.

Just missing the periscope camera really.

Samsung used to innovate, now they don't, all they do now is just copy fads set by the Chinese. All equally worthless in the broad scheme of things for actual utility.

It doesn't matter who is in the lead as long as they do a good job.
And after my S9 plus battery and updates fiasco I am kind of disappointed in Sammy.
After I tried and failed big time with an Android One Nokia 7 Plus (USB port problems), I did what I never would see myself capable of doing: after tens of smartphones purchased in the last 10 years, I bought myself an iPhone 8 Plus (used one, but in very good condition).

That is the real delusion. Look at every Huawei/Honor phone that recently came out all of them using the same teardrop notch design and the same Kirin710. Just a bunch of overpriced premium looking phone but cheap innards. The real big player nowadays is underrated.

I don't see Samsung as a leader, unfortunately. Yet, that goes same for Huawei.

I think its MORE possible that Google becomes a full-fledged OEM, and quickly overtakes Huawei and Samsung instead.

The thing separating the market leader and the second runner-up has never been hardware, or hardware alone. There was always something extra, some special sauce. And where I saw this previously with Nokia, Sony, Blackberry, Palm, Apple, and Google.... I don't see this with the likes of either Samsung or Huawei.
