What Im saying is google should step up their game in the specs and features of their phone just like any other brands of flagship phones. Because right now, all they are doing is giving us the "minimum hardware" to run their device and software. As you said, they choose the best hardware for their software, but that does not mean that they should give us the minimum required hardware for it which is obsolete for its generation and category.
Example is the storage options and battery capacity. They may give us measly 32gb of storage and 2900mAh of battery, which we both know is really a low specs for a 2019 phone. You feel me bro? Peace.

    Anonymous, 12 Apr 2019Dude, what you just posted is pure stupidity, sure the goog... moreI know dude that it's not the same as Pixel but its a big leap than its stock camera app. Not to mention, its better than other flagships of its time like the S9, Oneplus 6T, Iphone X. And for the case of Poco F1, the phone is not really optimized to adopt the google camera port even though it can port one. The good news there is the latest generation of Xiaomi phones, like the Redmi, can now fully adopt the the google camera and all its features (well, except for the visual core obviously). But my point here is the google camera port greatly improves the camera performance of cheap chinese phones to the point that it surpasses other flagships. And for the case of google, they should try to bring more features and specs on their phones like some other flagships does and not only rely on camera and vanilla android experience. Peace

      Google, of all, do not seem to have any interest to enter into volume based sales. Instead they struck to their core strength - Software genius. They are building a phone using best of the available hardware to complement their software.

      Installing an apk port of the pixel, does not get a phone equal Pixel. Just like adding Mercedes or Ferrari Logo to other cars , doesn't make them into a Mercedes / Ferrari.

        The trend here in India,

        Buy a VFM Chinese phone based on looks and the processor and brag about how your phone is better and everyone else who opted for slightly expensive brands are stupid

        Post a 5 star rating on the product page with in 24hour usage including a thanking note to the online store who sold it

        After 6-8 months usage realizes what they bought was pure crap and feels outdated
        Tries to sell it, but one wants to buy because there are plenty of new models for your asking price

        Finally, exchanges online for a lower price for another similar VFM device

        And the loop goes on

Make a smartphone with very go... moreDude, what you just posted is pure stupidity, sure the google's camera app port improves the image quality but the real pixel is miles ahead, because of something called the "pixel visual core" which google bakes into the software on pixel devices, that's where the magic happens and that cannot be ported as a standalone apk, many people like you install the apk on value for money chinese phones like the Poco F1 sees an improvement over the stock camera and think that its on par with a pixel, but the reality is it's not.

              I am so hyped for the Pixel 3a! No other phone that small, WITH A HEADPHONE JACK, is available on the market except the sony xperia xz1 compact from 2 years ago.

              I wish it were smaller, but the mindless masses have spoken.

                Design as usual from Google. Make a smartphone with very good camera and ......... cheap out big time on the design, like yesteryear's design. Dont forget to charge a very high premium on this phone just bcos it has a "good camera". Honestly, this phone might have been the hit if 'google camera app port' was not created and available to nearly all phones. This is just plain absurd. Now google may even put the smallest battery on it below 3000mAh at claim that this thing works fine bcos of their "optimizations". No hate on google here, but this is what they are currently doing and if they want this to sell internationally, they need to step up their game to compete with the Chinese.

                The sad thing there is Google only focus on good marketing of their products. Yes, it does work in the US where customers are easily fooled by Ads and only rely on marketing. But it does not work in Asia and in Europe where people are more aware in the phones that they buy. Especially here in india where we take into considerations the specs. I just hope google will step up their game.

                  Well I was interested in these for a while, but Google is bringing some 2017 looking phones to 2019 as if the SoC isn't enough incentive to opt for the higher end Pixels. DOA.

                                Same ol tech, same ol design, they did this to minimize costs.cuttibg the bezels and making new designs demand r&d investments, so expect them to be dirty cheap, or big fails

                                        Choice of SoC and price will be crucial to whether these phones will be great hits. If the price is similar to Samsung A80 and the SoC is only Snapdragon 675 or even lower, I doubt anyone will buy them, just for their cameras and pure android.
