'Korean' was synonym of low quality mass production back then (much like 'chinese' not so many years ago). And Samsung, as always, was a flag carrier. :) Their products were really really bad. Can't buy one until today, although i know things are changed. (Stares at Samsung boombox from 1988 and spits.)

This just means that the OG Snapdragon 660 is still a performer in the mid-range category. And it now sells on a very cheap and marked down price. Good job Snapdragon!

The OP even wrote he has a Honor 8 himself. That is even an older device with an older SoC more in the line of a SD820. He has a point. Many newer devices look worse compared to some newer offerings.

Anonymous, 11 Apr 20194×A75 would perform better than 2×A76It simply wouldn't perform any better it actually would perform worse. For 99% of tasks you don't need more than two big cores, more than two is handy for task switch but most of us don't run two games in the same time. What is badly needed are faster base core's which would more significantly improve user experience. A73 deserves face-lift and on 7 nm and beyond it meets efficiency demand to replace A55's (same power consumption as A55 on older node and 1.8x performance). ARM's latest servere core's efforts will likely get us back to two cluster design.

The AnTuTu score suggests the configuration should have been as follows;
SD710: 4xA75, Adreno616
SD675: 2xA76, Adreno615
SD670: 4xA75, Adreno615
SD665: 2xA75, Adreno612
This would have achieved a cascading performance according to the increasing model number.

"AnTuTu tests Snapdragon 730 and 665, has good and bad news"
As if antutu is the best tool for showing which SoC is better.
It doesn't show how much more SD660 throttles and how much less power SD665 consumes.

Basically, all the new chipset have upgraded GPU but downgraded CPU. Don't be fooled by the higher number of the GPU. Fyi, the G on 730G probably stands for graphic performance. In the end it is still a better choice to pick SD660 over SD665; SD675 over SD670. You not missing out much if graphic and gaming not your thing. These new chipset is better suited to be advertised as midrange gaming chipset that sacrificed a bit on CPU & increased GPU performance. Also it built on smaller process which helps in battery.

Apple has his own ecosystem and iOS is arguably more secure than Spydroid, at least. (Don't take me wrong, i would never buy Apple device either. :) )

hmm, 11 Apr 2019Why sd835 when you get SD845 with same price range or as wi... moreBut not everybody wants a pocophone. A Galaxy S8 has a better camera with OIS, higher resolution and arguably better (AMOled-)screen and still a gorgeous glass-metal design with no bloody notch.
Then there's the RGB-notification LED, the inductive charging and the USB3.1 type-C port.
Or what about the better LTE-bands support, or the Galileo GPS support or ...
For around 350 or 400 bucks that old S8 is still a compelling device. And it runs Android Pie as well. As for the Poco which also recently got Pie it's doubtful that it'll get any more OS updates beyond Pie just as with the S8. So OS upgrades should be the same for both devices.
The performance of said S8 is between 10 and 20% slower (according to this GA's Basemark OS II) and even less then 5% according to this GA's Basemark X.
hmmm.... I'm still not convinced that the poco F1 is a better deal compared to for example an older S8.
In fact I have the idea that many older devices are better than the crap that manufacturers release these days. For example I currently have a low-life Honor 8. This thing has a ridiculously fast fingerprint-scanner at the correct place (and with modern fps-features like swipe down for notifications etc...), The camera is on par with most other devices when there's enough light, it has a helpfull IR-blaster, very fast SoC (even today), no camera bump, and still looks fantastic today. Sure the screen has got a thick (useless) bottom and top bezel. Even I'm having trouble finding the correct upgrade for this device despite the fact that my battery has seriously deteriorated over time.
The only thing that currently attracts me in the pocophone F1 is that this phone is the only one that I've seen that has automatic call-recording as standard. Which is imho very important these days (due to regulations regarding the use of a phone while driving etc...) and which GA unfortunately still neglect to omit in their reviews!
Instead of looking forward to the new tech I'm recently getting afraid to find out "they" omitted yet another useful thing on the new model! :-(
