It seems like the Taiwanese company is still developing smartphones.

A NON super glossy back would be nice. Even a metal back would nicely go against the trend or a blend. Hardware with a bit of solid stylish character and personality

HTC still my favorite despite it is ups and downs, The Main Problem with HTC is Marketing, All the Mobile companies have went through good days and bad days but HTC one of the best (in its scale) Mobile Companies, Just need to fire its Marketing Dept.

I don't want HTC to die, but they need to sell themselves to a company like HMD that can make top quality phones to roll back the years to HTC's prime.

Its about time they look at what made there phones successful in the first place. HTC diamond for example the HTC M8 why the M9 failed it wasn't just because of the camera but the phone was just like a Iphone 5 to 5s nothing substantial. Hire me HTC I will help you! and its not even a flagship phone you need.

i never owned an htc but i have always wanted one. their design language is actually the best within android ecosystem, and even with windows mobile or the pre-iphone/android era. the reason really i went with samsung and sony before were because of features (samsung) and simplicity (sony). even with ui, htc simply stands out- i remember being loaned an htc one x by my brother while my galaxy s3 was being repaired and i was blown away by the ui. i hope, along with sony and lg, that htc returns to the big game. i am not anti-chinese because i am using myself a pocophone f1 (i think my razer phones can be considered as chinese as well), but these brands- samsung, lg, sony, and htc were leading the industry.

3 phones a year makes no sense. for company which once was one of top 5 or top 10 companies around the globe.
They just can sells its bussines to Lenovo or Huawei.

I do hope that they'll give their software a refresh though. HTC Sense has been getting pretty stale compared to other skins on top of Android, and it looks outdated.

I mean yeah it's a year old now, but not like it can no longer do many things properly whatsoever.
Xiaomi's been using SD625 for 3 years before migrating to the newer ones, but many people still bought them anyway.
As long as the price is right, then there's nothing wrong with the hardware, but that's something we should hold our breaths first before drawing conclusions.

Revive HTC HD2 design. Same dimension. Keep Jack and SD slot and removable backplate. Update to latest SoC.

HTC will be back in the game.. It will beat all these generic cookie cutter china clone design.

If the pic in article is the device in question - design is fine (f*** notches), the specs look interesting and knowing HTC they should be able to price it realistically.

However: the size is a disaster. If you can't use it with one hand it's not a big phone, it's a small tablet.
