Is this a win for periscope cameras over good selfie cams? Not quite, value for money is still the most important metric.

None of them looks good. Better notch then some ugly mechanism

I find it also very stupid watching videos (movies or tv shows that I like) on those tiny screens, even my 30" 2K monitor seems not enough when it's about good content, plugged 50" TV to my PC + good speakers of course (15 years old but still very good). Phones ? They are just phones, only design ( and root of course) matters these days, rest all the same.

Oppo don't supports Widevine L1 (supports L3 which is actually lower ) which is required to play Netflix and Amazon prime in HD.

While I agree that the software experience isn't the best, for a large majority it's fine. Not to mention the periscope camera and the fact that there is only one motor. I do agree that both phones are quite equal, but there is one thing that gives the Reno the edge:price. It's a 100-200 dollars less.

              The chipset difference don't even give this comparison any credibility. It completely two different segment. You just comparing it for the sake of the 'cool' camera design. *smh

                Why are they even compared. It's clear than Oppo has much better things to bring to the table than the A80 which only has "coolness" and double the complexity which we all should know that it's also a double whammy of parts to be broken. Also don't mention the SoC and the price, I mean WTF? How could Samsung even get away with this?

The Reno just gives m... moreThat's the thing, the A80 is a lot cooler and looks better, plus Samsung build quality. The Oppo camera looks ridiculous, and it doesn't swivel. Oppo software is terrible, and software is a big part of the experience. The software is what stopped me from buying the Find X, see Mr Mobiles review. In the real world, the A80 is just a much better phone and will sell better because the software is global friendly. Not everyone cares that the SoC isn't the top dog, it's still plenty fast.

                            None of these..
                            I never liked oppo (or any other china brand for that matter), while A80 is just another mid-range phone. I'm only looking for high-end flagships from Samsung or Sony. Nothing else.
