Counterclockwise: As 5G arrives we track the 3G and 4G adoption

21 April 2019
The first widely-available 3G networks launched in 2003, but 3G phones didn't become the standard until 2007. 4G's story is similar.

HAHAHAHA, my country has commercial mobile data Internet since......4 months ago. It started with 3G. Then, an special 4G network like 20 days ago. It became active for me just today, so....Happy 4G for me!!!!

Razor, 22 Apr 2019It's not a myth bro. Why do you think every phone has SAR value. The myth is about radiation of 4G killing us and giving cancer. I know SAR value. It has never exceed than the recommended value anyway. That why it's a myth. Just because SAR value exist doesn't prove any health issue exist since it always abide by standard.

The important thing is that it is shown unscaled at 100%
(or you could do the test on a computer, it does not matter)

                    PS
                    I had a stupid typo of course I meant 1080ppi not "1080p".

a simple man, 21 Apr 20195G is over-rated. Forget what they tell you, most will only... more-5G is not only just about speed.
It is also to develop the infrastructure which is sustainable. Remember when 3G was launched companies would dig the roadside to lay their cables and that was done by every company. The same thing happened when 4G got launched.
This won't happen with 5G and forward as they plan to use Virtualization at network level and at the routers. And there are other improvements which will fill loopholes in our existing network design.
*So, it is never about speed alone, there are many factors which are considered before moving on to The Next G as huge investments are required to upgrade the chip desigs, OS designs, mobiles, networks and government putting the infrastructure for the same.*

Reknilador, 21 Apr 2019But a lot of health officials did voice their concerns, sea... moreThey have no credibility to prove any wrong in this technology. You need proper research and analysis of proven data if you really want to stop this tech. Do a real survey and actually prove any type of medical case that has been caused by radiation and prove any death caused by it. Make the evidence be seen. Else it just seen as average people voicing out their opinion no matter if you a medical professional or whatever.

a simple man, 21 Apr 20195G is over-rated. Forget what they tell you, most will only... moreThats not true, maybe for you it is, but not in fact.
For phones it maybe not will be a huge revolution as it will be for many other things in our tech world countries. Many things will now be possible because of the 5g speed, it will now be possible to have self driving cars because there is no delay on the web etc. etc. and the tech is that big, so we cant even imagine what it can be used for.

all cellphones in Europe still have 2g,it will take a decade to completely move to 3g or 4g as a base conection, still all 4g phones use insanely lot of battery power compared to 3g networks

So far the 4G networks kill only the honey bees.

                                    GUESS WHO'S NEXT ???

Replying to the anonymous comment regarding the 3G spike last year, I think it has more to do with the fact that not everyone wants/needs to use a smartphone (think old people and hipsters, just to name a few), corroborated with the fact that last year was witness to loads of carriers shutting down their 2G networks. Most likely that spike was caused by the those people mentioned switching from 2G dumbphones to 3G dumbphones.

I'd go as far as saying we'll probably see another similar spike in 4G maybe 15 years from now when 5G will be mainstream, 6G launch will be close, and carriers will announce the closure of 3G networks.
