The only breakthrough display will be the one that doesn't break.

Shui8, 23 Apr 2019A 'breakthrough' indeed....in a price lol. On a serious ... moreMost complete?? Just because it competes in insignificant speed differences?? Might as use iOS with that kind of thinking.

All the companies and their words these days. Just making it 90hz does not set the benchmark for display at all. Only one aspect. As an overall in anyway.... not even close

On a serious note, theres no doubt Oxygen OS are the most complete ROM on a phone, the best. Bezelless design, big 1/2.0” camera sensor (finally on Oneplus), minus IP rating because of the pop up selfie camera, max price should be no more than $700.

Anonymous, 23 Apr 2019This is the problem with selling cheap phones and breaking ... moreNo wonder Huawei (who cater very well for the top end as well as mid range) have overtaken Apple as second largest and is on course to take number one from Samsung within a year or two...

Time to switch from fake budget smart phone to real budget king ..... POCOFONE.

As for flagship fone, if they keep raising price like this,, a time will come when...why investvest so much.... Better get Apple /Sammy/ Huawei.

Anonymous, 23 Apr 2019"OnePlus is no longer aiming to undercut its competitors bu... moreOnePlus is destined to go down. It is quickly losing market share in China. It had a large market in India, but if it isn't priced very aggressively and manufactured in India, it will go down soon. The S10 series is apparently a huge hit and so is the new A-Series.

OnePlus' management are overpaying themselves, and therefore the profit margins cannot be reduced for customers. Plus their smartphones don't really have superlative features in almost any department. At this rate, another company will be going down. R I P

Nothing PRO about it, No 3.5 Jack No IR blaster, no real IP-rating. Go sing to another table, Asian scamming company.

Where is Jack? Did someone see him? Ouch, wrong place, must live in other news...

Where is the wirereless charging.......? Ouch, wrong place again, my bad.

OnePlus 7: bye bye OIS :_( I'm jelaous, with useless secondary camera. At least the P30 have three cameras and big sensors with 1/1.7" size PDAF/Laser AF. I only have tiny ones... and cost near the same.
OnePlus 7 Pro: Oh, welcome OIS $$$$!!! Calm basic OP7, baby, but you have a faster SD855! than others doesn't have (lie). ^^ You are now part of the exclusive overpriced club, i mean, "premium" club! Congrats! ^^ And i'm in the MEGA $$$$ ONE! Woohoo.

Kress, 23 Apr 2019Exactly. And CEO Pei is a biggest liar in this case. He's a bigger liar than Tim Cook, and that's not a good thing. Maybe he's trying to one-up Elon Musk?

If this thing doesn't have a 120Hz screen, or a 4K resolution, or a notchless 21:9 +1440p type display... then they failed.

Not to mention the iPhone has one of the best latency of the touchscreen-to-display response time, followed much later by the Google Pixels, and then shortly by the Samsung flagships, then followed much later by the other competitors. So saying so is not good enough, they need to release it, and a third-party needs to test and confirm it. Otherwise it's heresay/lie.

The basic model will be worse than 6T. Tiny 48Mp sensor with a depth useless secondary camera and both without OIS so worse than before. But hey, be happy with the SD855, be fast! And "Never Settle" with the price. They'll invent some excuse to justify it. The SD855, perhaps some software gimmick or two crap chinese stereo speakers that sounds like cicadas for the basic 7 model while the better ones are Pro exclusive. 90Hz Pro exclusive. Pop-up camera Pro exclusive. From $750 the basic overpriced 7 to $1080 the Pro and the 5G even more...

As expected the Pro and Pro 5G will be the key to finally reach the $1000 phones. Be Pro!!! The 7 don't worth, is only for poors and too basic. Never Settle and go for the Pro! no for the Pro 5G $$$$. Of course don't expect a lot features... but is "Smooth", with 90Hz display and fast!!! As fast as a SD855 can......

"OnePlus is no longer aiming to undercut its competitors but may actually price its phones along the shoulders of its competitors." - this is exactly the point where OnePlus dies. CEO Pete Lau tries to justify the price with "breakthrough" display which will (supposedly) have 90 Hz. Someone should wake him up and tell him that there're phones out there with 120 Hz screens already (Several Sharp devices + Razer). So much for the "breakthrough".

By the way, get rid of the humongous 6"+ monstrosities, they're so 2018. People want devices which they can use with one hand.
