OnePlus 7 Pro prices will start at around €700

Kangal, 25 Apr 2019These prices are very probable as to what OnePlus *wants* t... moreI don't know. They're doing what Huawei did by first making good phones that undercut the competition. Then they raise the price from the last model while giving it a bunch of upgrades, making it seem like it's worth the price tag

These prices are very probable as to what OnePlus *wants* to charge customers. And it's also quite certain the new OnePlus 7/Pro will lack IP68 Waterproofing and Shock Resistance (ie questionable durability).

By the time the OnePlus 7 Pro launches it will be more expensive than the Samsung S10+ and the base OnePlus will be more expensive than the Samsung S10e or even LG G8.

Sure, I might not get a stocking OS with the Samsung flagships, or often security updates, or much platform updates. But... you do get DeX and you get a whole lot of other advantages that make the decision very easy.

The only way OnePlus can be successful is if they make the OnePlus 7 noticeably better than the OnePlus 6 (6t sucks), and make it cheaper than it as well, thus reversing time in a sense, to make this less of a flagship and more of a flagship-killer.

Otherwise OnePlus is going to lose from three fronts: the S10+ from the top, the LG G8/S10e from the middle, and the Xiaomi PocoPhone 2 from the bottom. And I wouldn't feel sorry if they do lose and go bankrupt because of their own greed and incompetence.... far better men have died for less (like Palm).

If the base model is over say 575 US, complete failure.

that would make it more expensive than the s10+, by the time it's available. s10+ is already down to €740 in europe, and dropping quickly. cheaper if ordered from the far east.

Anonymous, 24 Apr 2019Will sell well in the US. Now only T-Mobile US sold 6T, but... moreLIE. The S10e cost 100-150 euros less depending where you buy it. So around $200 less. Plus if I buy it and you have a problem with it here you must send it to transport agency, pay insurance due to thiefs, etc, and manage with the customer service online, etc. While if i buy the S10e or even S10 with the 250 official discount from Samsung... and I have a problem with the phone i walk to the nearest shop and they literally change me the phone for a NEW ONE without any problem.... ask OnePlus customer service to do that regardless of the problem... HA

And what that BBK cheap subbrand can offer for such insane price? Excellent camera? No. IP68? No. Wireless charging? No. Exceptional battery? No. Standard USB-PD charging? No. Stunning design? No. Unnecessary for 1-2 years 5g and power inefficient display. That's all.

So at around $750-$800, OnePlus will still not offer IP rating. I would rather buy a Samsung S10 at this price.

Too expensive. Does Oneplus want to be a premium brand? . If people wants to but a premium product, they buy Apple, Huawei or Samsung. Oneplus is far from their quality and now wants the same money as they for their phones? Xiaomi is now a true flagship killer.

The price just isn't lower enough to be able to compete. The only customers for this will be long-time 1+ enthusiasts, but it's real-life software advantages over Samsung's build are something 99% of the customers give absolutely 0 crap about. OnePlus better prays that 1+7's camera will somehow beat that Samsung, otherwise they can lube their rear ends if they honestly believe people are going to pay flagship prices for a device which fails even on elementary flagship features like IP rating.

With this price it officially retires into "some chinese brand that people heard of but don't care too much about" category alongside with ZTE and Vivo. Oh, how mighty have fallen.
