To be clear, the Oppo Reno 10x zoom doesn't have 10x optical zoom (or 6x for that matter)

Periscope cameras are an amazing feat of engineering. But while we initially thought the lens on the Oppo Reno 10x zoom would offer a 6x optical zoom factor (160mm lens), it turned out it doesn't.

      If you divide the longest focal length the 130mm by shortest focal length 16mm = 8,125x optical zoom factor. :)

          Even the Huawei P30 Pro has a 5x optical zoom so I wouldn't expect the Reno that's cheaper than P30 Pro to be better than that. Oppo Reno S855 is still the second best phone camera with zoom capabilities and it's definitely a whole lot better using hybrid zoom than digital zoom on many phones.

              Oppo is infamous for exaggerating or rather wording specs in such a way, that they don't sound truly honest.

                Whatever it is, this and Huawei P30 Pro are bashing the Nokia 9 PureView for sure...

                  Once again Oppo proved themselves to be the biggest Apple fanboy out there: low quality parts, deceptive marketing and sold at higher than normal prices.

For its price 860-910 euros those cameras are a scam. As there were people trying to sell them as better than the P30 Pro even here, which is obviously false. And there are good offers out there for the P30 Pro that let you buy it cheaper than this phone.

                        Oppo is known for their bullshit.
                        Never offer any system updates, bad after-sales service and also bullshit price.
                        With such low quality, they adopt overpricing method like samsung and apple (hell naw)

                        Also why the hell their logo is vertical that it's read "Oddo".

Searching prices the mid-range Reno with lower memory is the one that cost 575 euros. The Reno 10x cost 856 euros, the one with lower memory and more than 900 euros the 8Gb version. For those prices i prefer the P30 Pro all the way. Probably they are even hiding the poor result with optical zoom under the 6x...

                                  If you search, the P30 Pro can be found for 774 euros at some carriers. Of course, others have it at 1045 euros. It depend of the carrier, the offers change depending of the model and phone's brand. If you are interested in a model in particular, is a matter of search if your carrier have it at a good price or perhaps it could interest you change to other for a time to get the phone a lot cheaper.
