Great, very great, I was thinking of Mi A3 Android one but I think this one will rather be my next phone for one year. Very great specs and I believe great good price too to go with it. I swear this will be more popular than the Pocco F1. Fans will be very very excited. If they add headphone jack then I will surely get this phone and make it my daily Driver. I am a music Man so I always need the headphone jack and FM too. Xiaomi please do not mix our already good feeling we are having toward the release of this phone. Provide us with SD Card slot and Headphone jack and FM we plead if possible add the 32-bit/384 khz audio. Thank you.

Truth, 26 Apr 2019Stop spreading trash and writing these illiterate essay kin... moreyes! before they began manufacturing phones, it is a fact that xiaomi's miui was the most sought after android rom. yes, there are ads in some of their phones, but really those are minimal and in most of their phones there is an option to turn off these ads. miui's gesture navigation is said to be better than even ios, and i can attest to that with my pocophone f1. unlike emui and other chinese oem uis, miui is closer to stock android in terms of the settings and the notification shade. there is bloat and you can't remove them, but by far it is smoother and lighter than one ui when comparing my wife's gs9 and the low-end redmi s2 (y2). i would say it is even better than xperias as i was able to compare for a few days my pocophone f1 with my brother's xz3. the only thing i don't like about miui is that it takes a few more taps to go from the messaging to the phone app and vice-versa. me and my wife have had our share of flagships from samsung and apple so we very well know what we are talking about when it comes to real life usage of smartphones, and we both can attest xiaomi's miui is at par with one ui and ios eventhough the hardware may not be.

I think this phone will be the Poco f2....i think xiaomi will launch the same phone under the redmi branding for the international market and launch another one as poco f2 for Indian market...Cuz now xiaomi hv so many subrands like poco, redmi, blackshark, etc....

Redmi 5 ,6 and 5+ (note 5) was not great but guess what you purchased it and regreting this it doesn't mean whole Xiaomi products are bad cause you purchased a flop product it shows lack of knowledge about market conditions....Lol

I would've installed a different ROM on my Redmi 5 Plus already if I no longer use it as my daily driver, but unfortunately I have to deal with this limited software for another year, in which I'd have enough money to purchase a Samsung or Huawei with MUCH MUCH BETTER UI.
Compared to Oppo and Vivo, Redmi phones are made of better hardware, but I'm talking specifically about RealMe, which almost matched them if not for plastic and outdated microUSB, and Huawei, in which Redmi got their idea of gradient back color.
They're doing fine today, sure, but definitely others are catching up. And now that Oppo and Huawei's got amazing 10x and 5x periscope optical zoom lenses, what does Xiaomi have to compete with them in the high end market?
Their budget division is already starting to face some serious competition, while their flagship segment is simply no match to the real deals. They're in the top now because their competitors haven't really nailed their things yet, but I could already tell that they could be surpassed by their competitors in a few years. It's just how market works, in which nothing really stays on top forever.
Their only saving grace is the Pocophone F2, and even that one doesn't sound anything too surprising except for its price.
And their BlackShark platform? Ah, I don't even think it's worth talking about.
As for the MIUI ads, well I really wish things were as easy as you are trying to say them. I've pretty much dug my Redmi 5 Plus into the deepest that I can to disable ads, and somehow I still can't seem to get rid of them no matter what. I managed to reduce them somehow, but still not enough for me to no longer complain about it. Given how many ads Google apps already contain, I feel like my phone is a great platform for marketing.
A good phone must already have a good software straight out of the box, and MIUI certainly isn't one of them, I'm sorry.

Other brands might've kicked Xiaomi's ass last year but Redmi separating as a sub brand elevated their game in the mid range market. Xiaomi was the first to launch market share grabbing phones this year and it's still on the top 4 spot in terms of market share while Oppo dips and Vivo on a continuous slump. Anyway, the Redmi 5 Plus is shit, but that doesn't mean that you could crap on other Xiaomi phones. I've had the Mi 4C, the Note 4X, the Note 5 AI and then now the Note 7 and nothing can force me out of the brand especially those gimicky plastic micro usb laden realme phones which some delusionaly deems as a Redmi killer lmao. Ads can be turned off and oh MIUI 11 is in the works.

If this type of radiation isn't harmful enough to impose health risks to human beings, then why is there the need to post the list in public?
I'm sure it's not just to show off, so it must serve some useful purpose, and that's definitely to warn people about the risk of the radiation that their phones are emitting.

It looks as if they didn't even put an effort into designing the icons and all that, and not to mention how limited their software is as compared to Samsung's One UI or Huawei's EMUI. In fact, it's so horrendous, I'd even prefer stock Android on my dad's Mi A1 any day.
Ads are annoying, because it gives the users the feeling of not using the full version of their phones. Google apps are already filled with tons of ads, especially YouTube, and when added to MIUI ads, my phone is now a perfect platform for marketing!
The only thing good about Xiaomi is their hardware, and even that seems to be getting defeated by their competitors like RealMe, Huawei, and even Samsung in some ways.
Then people will brag about installing custom firmwares instead to get rid of MIUI, but a good phone should already have a good software straight out of the box, and no major change is necessary.
I don't like iPhones in general, but iOS is so damn ahead of Android in terms of consistency. Sure, can't do a lot of things on them, but whatever it does, it does it wonderfully well.
Then we do have system support, in which I doubt any Android device has ever rivaled them for years.
Redmi 5 Plus is my first Xiaomi phone, and it also might be the last one.

If you'll be able to own and use one, only then that you'll know why they're priced higher than Mi phones. From daily performance to battery back up to camera to updates, Honor phones deliver. Trust me Kabayan, I owned honor 3x, honor 7 and honor 8 before I switched to Huawei flagships only because of Leica cams.

let's get things straight- per previous commenter and per health facts, mobile phone radiation is non-ionizing and is proven not to cause any health hazards except to some ceratin individuals. the reason radiation levels are required to be on the documentation or user manual is for use as reference for people afflicted with conditions wherein they are highly sensitive to radio frequency radiation (such as some form of anemia). other than that, there is no reason to be concerned of the sar levels of certain brands. as of the moment though, this fact is only true for 4G LTE; there is still no publicly available journal about studies on the effects of 5G as of yet, but i am sure it is thoroughly tested as well before being deployed.
