So, is that 200mb/s h265 at 8k, or 20mb/s?

Seriously, 300mb/s+ h265 4:2:2 12 bit please, to give better images for post processing please.

Please dear God have the ability to have usbc to HDMI output. I know it's USB 2.0 but I'm hoping somehow it has video output.

Kangal, 29 Apr 2019I don't see the fan, and frankly their styling, as somethin... moreNubia has good support support globally. They officially ship to my small European country and my Axon 7 has been receiving updates for three years

I don't see the fan, and frankly their styling, as something good/worth marketing. In fact, they're pretty stupid additions. And the lack of IP68 protection, and poor software experience/support as a dealbreaker for most flagship consumers, myself included.

But I have to give them props to including a proper big battery, front-firing stereo loudspeakers, headphone jack, bonus Pogo pins, 90Hz OLED 1080p display, extra/shoulder buttons, and no notch. Not to mention the no-nonsense fingerprint scanner, front camera, rear camera. It’s even got a decent looking TV/Desktop Dock and (half) a JoyCon. All of that for USD $400-$700, so its priced sensibly as well.

They’ve done more good than not, and thus deserves a kudos. Hopefully this product will be successful, so that they and competitors may improve upon it for a future version*

*(note: one that doesn’t have active cooling, adds a microSD slot, goes AndroidOne route, and improves the gamer-boy-ricer external styling = $$$$ hit success ).

It's pretty obvious it will snap at 8k@30FPS or do slo mo @1920FPS on lower resolution than FHD, probably HD or even lower given it would be more on par with similar handset.

Now I would like to know how many light it will get at this refresh. Because having a 2k FPS camera is good, but if you need a 1000W lamp to light the subjet, it's not really practical for just "cool video of my friend eating the ground while missing its trick - extra slow mo version".

But the extra slow mo can be really handy regardless of the resolution, when studying really fast Moving machine at works for example. I would like to see the result.

240hz touch rr is already higher than 125Hz standart mouse pooling rate. Gaming mouse got 500Hz tho, just need to test how effective it is to increase responsiveness

The Sony IMX586 had the following resolutions:
              Full Frame at 30fps
              4K(4096×2160)90fps
              1080p240fps
              720p480fps(w/crop)

There is no 960fps. Also I don't think the Snapdragon 855 can do 48MP at 30fps either.

Companies falsely advertising figures (like the 100MP camera), should be fined in millions of US$. And a few marketing executives could be awarded short sentences too. That should help improve transparency.

great shame that would not come with microSD support, considering 8K would very likely eat a lot of memory.

                  For IMX586 from Sony website:
                  4K(4096×2160) - 90fps
                  1080p - 240fps
                  720p - 480fps(w/crop)

YRDN, 29 Apr 2019We've put it in the same sentence because they are both key... moreTheir exact words are, "8K video recording WITH up to 1920 fps"....

This pretty much connects both the key specs using "WITH". This makes me think that maybe if it is for a fraction of a second, is this possible?

At 1920 fps, we're looking at a cool 6 second slow motion video (180 frames), even if it records maximum for 0.08 seconds... Don't know if it is possible or not though.

8K on quad Bayer will not be so sharp, but let us see

Well I guess it's time to dispose my 1080p video recording camera since my $200 Redmi 5 Plus can do better with 4K anyway....

Anonymous, 29 Apr 2019It's the sensor sram that makes slow motion @940 possible n... moreYes, I know about Camera's SRAM in the Galaxy S9+ and Sony and all.

That's why I said, "maybe it can USE that RAM" which means Nubia could've developed a superfast bus to connect the RAM to camera, thus enabling RAM to be used for this purpose.
If this happens, then the storage of camera output will not be a problem, and we might have multiple variations and bitrates, I think.

Finally, the second flagship with a humongous 5000mAh battery (the first one being Huawei Mate 20 X). Should be interesting to see how the 90hz will affect the battery life just like the ROG phone which was OK. Would have preferred a wider aspect ratio as 19.5/9 without a notch is really long.

In practice, we are yet to determine how the phone is upscaling the images because the SD855 supports up to 4K HDR10 video recording and up to 480 fps at 720p slow-mo.

This is a 48mp sensor. 6 times 8k. For still photos now maybe it can't do 8k at 1900 but your bases are not the right argument

specs is the easy part- good software is the hard part.

                                      GSMArena staff,
You said, "The talking point is the 8K video recording with up to 1920 fps video shooting".

Are you sure you can put both 8K and 1920 fps in the same sentence...? Is the Snapdragon 855 capable of it?

I think it can do 8K at maybe 15 fps, realistically, and separately 1920 fps at 720/1080p?

Or maybe it can use that RAM to do 8K @ 1920 for maybe 0.1 second or so? What's the exact case here?

The rest is fine, but not gonna hold my breath at the 8K video recording and 1920fps super slow motion, given that the IMX586 is physically incapable of performing the latter on the hardware side. As for 8K video recording, it's pointless to have it at this early stage for smartphones when even 4K@30fps still isn't nicely stabilized on most smartphones.
