Flagship phones have enough processing power to do cinema level compression, but instead, they give such light weight compression engines with embarrassingly low datarates. They could easily incorporate CinemaDNG raw compression, or a prores like codec hardware in a very very small corner of some of these phones (but no proper card support, as microsd is too small, let alone swap out. They could make the cards slide into the back cover of a phone, you could easily flip them in and out if you want, and have a 6x longer SD card).

          The market is stuffed, a good ambarella chipset pocket camera could still offer heaps more quality than standard android setups. It's a real joke unfortunately.

            Making a low quality step in the right direction is better than not making a step forward at all

            Hopefully mike your just as motivated to give praises to phones with just the same old specs

              Very well done, this almost ticks all of the boxes for a gaming phone. But a gamer would most probably trade the unusual camera for a microSD slot...

                This is what Android race has turned into, stupid paper spec race. I still have to find a single smart phone that has better quality 4K footage than it's own 1080p 30fps cause as soon as you start to pan and dolly it all falls apart. Then you have people screaming where is my 4K 60fps for more dropped frames and other artifacts.

                  My comment was about what really good video is compared to what we get on mobiles (20mb/s). If this thing doesn't have a reasonable memory card (two easily swappable ones best) or USBC SSD drive support (though support for a card reader you could put 2x SD cards into might work instead) then you need to use low 50mb/s or less h265 8k mode. Not so good. A bit like getting a crayon painting instead of a masterpiece. Still, does this chipset support h266 yet, that would be better at 50mb/s?
