I really don't want to see LG smartphones fall into obscurity like HTC's did, I know LG can do better but whoever's in charge of their smartphone division needs to get it together. They could seriously capitalize on the fact that many smartphone features that were once considered the norm (no notch, headphone jack, compact size, large batteries) are now considered important selling points for phones for a lot of people nowadays because most companies have moved away from all of these features that people still see as important. They especially need to improve on OS updates along with Samsung. I can guarantee if they managed to push out Android updates faster than Samsung more people would buy their phones.

Well of course they struggle, what do you expect, they suck, they dont listen to their customers, their os center which is supposed to speed updates faster is Sh#T, their design is disgusting, they have a headphone jack which is the only positive thing along with that oled display, but the competition offers more then they do, they are becoming the new HTC. I hope they can come out better with the G9 because i want to return to these guys, but if they cant fix their own problems, then its over for them.

Well, I would like to have the G8, but I can't be LG's customer, since they do not sell this phone in Europe, just in South Korea and USA.
It would be a day-1-purchase for me if there was support and merchants in Europe.

LG is cutting corners and charging a premium for their G8. This practice will come and haunt them one day.

They really should 100% get in bed with HTC, and take the best at of both. Between them, they have a single great device, apart they have several nearly there devices, and nothing competitive.

So far they have not shown that improvement in software support they said or promised. It is also not that their technical service is pleasant.
Their mid-range have low specs and also are too overpriced. And their flagships have certain shortcomings, if not here, there, or in construction, or in display, or if not in cameras or not good image software processing. Always there is something that don't match the rest of the phone. And finally the world zones lock. Only unlockable in Europe by law. With lack on certain features in some countries, not all them receive the same. And usually the better one should be imported... something not viable with their high prices.
And that is other thing, high prices that in the case of Samsung, Huawei, etc, drops a lot more a long the time and even have good offers initially, something that not happen with LG phones. Expensives along a lot of time without worth that high price.
They have too many fronts open, but they do not seem to notice or want to rectify. They switch to Vietnam only to cut costs and see if they can balance the bills, but it does not seem that with the intention of improving in all the areas that need improvement.

What a surprise... What did they actually expected? That they will sell V40 for their absurdly high price 5 months after the phones premiere when there are already phones with SD855 debuting? xD

The title is misleading. LG made profit. Only the Mobile division made losses.
